Last week, Duna partnered with the Whale x Anthropic hackathon hosted at Codam Amsterdam! Over 24 hours, 100+ builders shipped products for minorities and communities in crisis. Teams included both engineers and non-technical builders, building for the communities that often get overlooked. Standout products included safe, accessible routing for vulnerable groups and offline LLMs for emergency response. Our founder, Duco van Lanschot sat on the jury alongside Adriaan Mol (Mollie) and Clare Jones (Polarsteps). We're proud to be part of Amsterdam's tech community and the people pushing the limits of what's possible. Thanks to everyone who built, mentored, and showed up.

This morning we hosted a breakfast and a roundtable on AI in Compliance with Deloitte. Joining us were leaders from companies like Adyen, Worldline, JP Morgan, Airwallex. Three takeaways: (1) Most teams are still at the starting line. Only 3 of 15 compliance leaders said they're using AI in any meaningful way beyond ChatGPT. (2) Once implemented, the upside is real. One team has already cut time spent on false positives by 50%, with higher consistency than the human baseline. (3) You don't need to be technical anymore to build agents. Compliance teams can experiment with building solutions. Practical tip for teams that want to adopt AI in their workflows: find your 10% of enthusiasts, give them a small, high-frequency, well-defined task, and iterate from there. San Francisco startups are moving from "SDR-heavy" to "AI-heavy" go-to-market teams - where 1 or 2 tech savy people have the output of 20 SDRs.
