Elaine has been working steadily on this delicate petit point on canvas at Atria Ironwood Estates. With every stitch, there is love for her granddaughter and her great-granddaughter, who is due any day now. "Petit point is very small-scale needlework," she shares. "It is characterized by tiny, delicate tent stitches used for fine details." We are inspired by Elaine’s talent and thank her for sharing the gift she made with love, which will be treasured by her family.

Bob is one of many talented pianists at Atria Sherbrooke Heights. “I don’t really play, I tinker," Bob demurs. Well, your neighbors loves to hear you “tinker” away in the community. We hear he draws quite the crowd! Residents willing to share their musical gifts are such an inspiration! 🎹

Residents at Atria Ironwood Estates had a “ball” playing pool noodle hockey! "The noise level was at a high this afternoon with cheering and laughter," shares Leslie, the community's Engage Life Coordinator. "Our team won! It was a close game – 6 to 5, shares resident Jean. "You'd think the Edmonton Oilers would want us," she laughs. We heard there's going to be a rematch, and we're looking forward it!

It was tea time across our communities as we enjoyed a cuppa at our Afternoon Tea Social Series events. Dressed in our springtime finery, we snacked on tea sandwiches and pastries, chatted with friends and played lawn games. Family Story Time! Atria Ironwood Estates regularly welcomes local families for fun programs for all ages. This month, Emily, a Community Outreach Librarian with the St. Albert Library, read storybooks and taught the residents and children sign language through songs. The room was full of smiles and giggles as the children joined in the community dance class and created cards to give to our residents.

Happy last day of winter! Meet Marj and Rosemarie, who began their friendship at Atria Churchill Manor over a shared love for puzzles. What started as quietly working side by side soon turned into friendly chats, laughter and teamwork. By fitting pieces together, they discovered a genuine connection, proving that simple activities can spark meaningful friendships and bring people closer in our communities.

The Atria Ironwood Estates’ Dance Crew definitely has the moves!🕺 Their weekly dance class, led by instructor Connie, is always well attended. Residents come ready to groove while getting their cardio on to fun music. "I really enjoy the dance class. I had never done line dancing before, so it was a first for me," shares Jean. "I feel so lucky to have the opportunity to learn something new that is not only fun, but has so many benefits – not only for our physical fitness, but the benefits of learning patterns and steps for improving our overall brain health as well. Even if we miss a few steps, we know we are never judged and can always share a few laughs. The class just really makes us happy! It's a great way to start the morning." We're inspired to bust a move!

Salute! We raised a glass to good company and the Winter Olympic Games with a favorite Italian pre-dinner tradition for our Italian Aperitivo Social Series event.
