About us
Since its inception, ASU+GSV has believed that there is virtually no limit to what a determined, collaborative, and entrepreneurial group of human beings can accomplish — especially a group as uniquely positioned and purposeful as this community. From 350 people in 2010 to now 12,500+ attendees across multiple events, the Summit has evolved into the world's most important and impactful gathering of visionary leaders from across "PreK to Gray" education and workforce learning. With that special alchemy of attendees, some of the most transformational ideas start right here on our stages, in our program rooms, and in our hallways. And in this new era of AI-accelerated innovation and opportunity, there is no better place to start Learning at the Speed of Light than the 17th Annual ASU+GSV Summit, April 12-15, 2026, in San Diego!

AI won’t transform education just because the technology is better this time. It will matter only if it helps students learn in ways previous edtech never did. Diane Tavenner and I sat down with Reed Hastings at the ASU+GSV Summit conference about what it would take for AI to be different from the many waves of education technology that promised transformation but mostly disappointed. Reed brings a rare perspective to this conversation—as the co-founder of Netflix, a longtime supporter of school innovation, and now someone thinking seriously about how AI could reshape teaching and learning.

Already driving headlines across CNN, TIME, The New York Times, The Washington Post, and more, new research from Harvard University, Stanford University, and Dartmouth College reveals a decade-long “learning recession” in America, with reading and math scores declining nationwide and the country’s lowest-performing students falling furthest behind. Join Thomas Kane (Harvard), Dr. Christina Grant (Harvard CEPR; former D.C. State Superintendent of Education), and John White (Great Minds; former Louisiana State Superintendent of Education) for a live GSVtv conversation, moderated by Deborah Quazzo, exploring: 👉 What the data reveals about the roots of the “learning recession” 👉 What recovery looks like — and why it’s been so uneven 👉 How districts and states are beginning to reverse the trend “The pandemic was the mudslide that followed seven years of erosion in student achievement,” Kane said following the report’s release. From science-of-reading reforms to chronic absenteeism, accountability, social media, and post-pandemic recovery, this conversation will unpack one of the most important stories in American education right now. I was grateful to get time with a member of the ASU+GSV Summit team while at the event last month to explore more of their recent work focused on higher education. David Harris joined me to have a quick chat about the Higher Education Insights Board as well as what he sees as necessary traits for institutions to properly meet this moment. 🎧 Listen to the full episode here or wherever you get your podcasts: https://lnkd.in/ekHRuUiC

It feels fitting to reflect today, May the Fourth, on just how strong THE FORCE was at the 2026 ASU+GSV Summit — and to celebrate the incredible community of workforce leaders driving what’s next. This year marked the debut of THE FORCE, presented by Coursera, as a dedicated zone for workforce leaders at ASU+GSV. Across 20+ program sessions; curated meals; and exhibits by Coursera, Accenture LearnVantage, and Workforce Edge, we brought together leaders from enterprise, startups, nonprofits, state and federal government, and higher education — all united by a shared commitment to ensuring ALL people have equal access to the future. From the workforce opening reception, presented by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, to the conversations sparked in the Workforce Lounge, presented by Chegg Inc., and the insights surfaced through the GSV Workforce Insights Board, this Summit reinforced that this community has the power to change the trajectory of education and workforce innovation. We're already counting down the days until THE FORCE returns to San Diego for the 2027 ASU+GSV Summit — April 4–7, 2027 — and we’d love for you to be a part of it. May THE FORCE be with you, GSV Workforce Team (Jennifer Lee, Lucy Baldwin, Amanda David)
