Devereux New York Services

Children's Services

Devereux New York serves children and adolescents with emotional, behavioral and cognitive differences. Our continuum of care includes state-approved residential and day schools; residential programs; pre-vocational and vocational opportunities on campus and in the community; and a student self-advocacy group.

New York CARES

We provide year-round, full-day intensive educational and behavioral interventions for students, ages 5 to 21, with autism spectrum disorder and other cognitive differences. Our program is guided by the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. Educational goals and activities are tailored to align with each student’s unique strengths and needs.

Day Academy (Opening soon!)

Devereux Day Academy – Highland, an Approved Private School, offers high-quality, innovative special education programming for students in grades K-5 with the following primary diagnoses: autism, intellectual disabilities, emotional disturbances, learning disabilities and speech/language impairments.

Adult Services

Our continuum of care for adults includes customized habilitation services, provided in a community setting; residential programs; a medically fragile residential program; and an adult self-advocacy group. We support independence and community integration through work, leisure and recreational activities.

Self Advocacy

We offer adult and student self-advocacy groups. Our adult group meets monthly to plan events and discuss initiatives, such as healthy eating and adopting a healthy lifestyle. Our student group – Students Who Advocate Group – is supported by clinical and case management staff. Students learn through experience by conducting polls, using letter campaigns, organizing fundraising events and speaking with Devereux New York leadership.
