Thank you to everyone who joined us in Luxembourg for the 14th Annual Cross-Border Distribution Conference. Bringing together industry leaders, asset managers, regulators and policymakers, the event explored the forces reshaping cross-border distribution and investment strategy, from the evolving global economic order and the rise of mega-managers in alternatives to the impact of T+1 settlement, tokenisation, and the shifting geography of capital and talent across Europe. Our thanks also go to Deloitte and Elvinger Hoss Prussen for presenting the conference, and to all speakers who contributed their insight and expertise throughout the day. #CrossBorder2026

What will it take to build a more secure, interconnected and investable energy system for the East Mediterranean and Southeast Europe? That question shaped two days of discussion at the FT Live and Kathimerini Energy Transition Summit: East Med & Southeast Europe, held on 13–14 May at the Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel in Athens. Across keynote interviews, ministerial discussions, panels, and networking sessions, senior policymakers, investors and energy leaders examined the region’s role at the centre of Europe’s energy transition. Connecting European demand with African resources, Middle Eastern capital and global trade routes. Discussions explored the practical steps needed to balance energy security, affordability and competitiveness amid geopolitical tensions, from strengthening interconnectors and the Vertical Corridor, to scaling storage, integrating digital technologies, securing critical minerals and unlocking finance for energy infrastructure. We were honoured to welcome leaders including Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Prime Minister of Greece; H.E. Jasem Mohamed AlBudaiwi, Secretary-General of the The Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC); Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic Đedović Handanović, Minister of Mining and Energy, Serbia; Dorin Junghietu, Minister of Energy, Moldova; Gordan Grlić Radman, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Croatia; and Stavros Papastavrou, Minister of Energy and Environment, Greece; and Evangelos Mytilineos, Executive Chairman, Metlen Energy & Metals among many more. The message was clear: the next phase of the transition will depend not only on ambition, but on delivery through stronger regional co-operation, properly-financed projects, resilient grids and public trust. What do you see as the biggest priority for the East Med and Southeast Europe energy transition: infrastructure, finance, regulation, technology or public support?
