Good candidates lose interest quickly... One of the biggest hiring mistakes companies make is assuming strong candidates will simply “wait”. They won’t! 🙅 The best people are usually speaking to multiple businesses at once, and if your process feels slow, disorganised, or overly complicated, they’ll naturally question what the company is like internally too. We’ve seen businesses lose brilliant candidates because they added unnecessary stages, delayed feedback for a week, or kept changing what they actually wanted halfway through the process... Hiring processes don’t need to be rushed, but they do need to feel clear, decisive, and respectful of people’s time. Most candidates are completely fine with multiple stages if there’s a reason behind them! What frustrates people is repetition - being asked the same questions by four different people, waiting days for updates, or feeling like nobody internally is aligned. A good hiring process should create confidence on both sides. The company should feel informed enough to make a decision, and the candidate should leave every stage thinking: “These people know exactly what they’re looking for.” That alone makes a huge difference to offer acceptance rates! 👍

  • Most CVs tell you very little... 😅 They show where someone has been, but not how they think under pressure, how they handle rejection, or how quickly they learn. Yet most hiring decisions still rely heavily on them. That is where the problem starts. A LinkedIn study found that 76% of hiring managers admit they have overlooked strong candidates simply because they did not tick every box on paper. That is a significant amount of missed potential! The strongest performers are rarely the ones with the neatest CVs. They are the people who adapt quickly, stay composed after a tough call, and do not need constant direction. You will not see that from job titles alone. So the approach needs to change. Ask better questions, use real scenarios and focus on how someone thinks rather than just what they have done. For example, ask how they would handle losing a deal at the final stage, or what they would do in their first 30 days. Then pay attention to how they respond! You are not looking for perfect answers. You are looking for mindset, ownership, and resilience. Skills can be taught. Attitude and thinking patterns are much harder to shift. If you hire for potential, you build a team that grows with you. If you hire based on CVs alone, you often inherit someone else’s limits. This is exactly why we run our Bespoke Training and PSA training days as part of our process! It moves beyond the CV and puts people into real situations, so you can see how they think, how they respond under pressure, and how quickly they learn. Because that is what actually drives performance - not just what is written on paper 😁 #hiring #saleshiring

  • Here’s how we actually deliver results on the Prime Sales Academy 👇👇 We don’t rely on one-off sessions or generic workshops. Everything is built to drive behaviour change. Masterclasses are where the standards are set. Reps don’t just listen - they apply, get feedback, and improve immediately. 1:1 coaching is where the real shift happens. Based on actual performance. Call listening, real scenarios, not just theory, but what’s actually happening on the phone. Managers aren’t left out either! We give clear guidance on where to focus. What to fix, who needs support, all backed by data and real observations. And everything is backed by a playbook. Clear, simple, and easy to use! If you want a programme that actually improves conversations, pipeline, and results - let’s have a proper conversation. • 52% of Gen Z candidates say salary transparency is the most important factor when applying for a job 💷 That’s more than half of early-career candidates putting pay clarity above everything else! It’s not that surprising - when you’re starting out, your salary has a big impact on your lifestyle and future options. People want to know what they’re walking into before they invest time in applications and interviews. Job adverts that say “competitive salary” or avoid giving a clear range are starting to lose attention. Most candidates will just move on to something that’s more upfront. This is especially true in sales roles, where earnings and commission are a big part of the appeal. For anyone hiring right now, it’s a simple shift that makes a big difference! #salarytransparancy #salesjobs #gradjobs

  • Our Prime Sales Academy is led by someone who’s actually done the job! Steve has spent years in the trenches - building teams, coaching reps, and fixing the same problems most businesses are still facing now. That experience shapes everything we deliver. One area Steve focuses on heavily is opening conversations. Because if your team can’t get the first 30 seconds right, nothing else matters 🤷 In this short clip from the Academy, he breaks down elevator pitches. Mainly, the mistakes that people make most often. If you want to watch the full video mentioning what elevator pitches should sound like and how to make them land in a way that actually starts a conversation (and many others), get in touch with Steve Lowndes today! ✉️   #elevatorpitch #salestraining #gradsalestraining

  • Culture fit drives sales performance more than CVs! While product knowledge can be taught and processes can be coached, mindset is much harder to change 🧠 Sales roles come with constant rejection, pressure, and the need for consistency. If someone’s natural way of working does not align with the environment they are in, it tends to show quite quickly. For example, a salesperson who thrives in a fast-paced, high-activity, competitive team may struggle in a slower, more relationship-focused culture, and the reverse is just as true. This is where many hiring decisions fall short. Leaders often focus on experience and past results but overlook how those results were achieved. Two candidates may have the same job title but operate in completely different sales environments, whether that is high-volume outbound, long sales cycles, or heavy inbound reliance. A poor culture fit does not just impact one individual. It can affect team morale, take up significant management time, and disrupt pipeline consistency. It also becomes a costly mistake. The most effective sales teams are aligned on how they work, not just what they sell. They have clear expectations, shared standards, and a mutual understanding of what good performance looks like. Hiring for how someone sells, rather than just what they have sold, is where culture fit really makes the difference 😁

  • We held our monthly ‘Thirsty Thursday’ social last week at DIECAST 🍻☀️ With the weather finally showing up for Manchester, this month’s social had to be outdoors! We spent the evening in what’s claimed to be Manchester’s biggest beer garden, making the most of the sunshine, good food and even better company. And once the sun went down, the team headed into our private caravan for pizza and a few more drinks 🍕🍺 A proper way to round off the month!
