Did you know The Cyber Scheme offer training designed specifically to help candidates prepare for our CSTM exam? It's the ONLY training course we endorse or support, and is NCSC-assured. Topics include: Setting up various operating systems and distros for hacking Network protocols Network scanning and device enumeration Service enumeration and fingerprinting Vulnerability analysis Exploitation techniques Cryptography Scopes, planning and risk management Web application hacking techniques Report writing Working in Cyber Laws around ethical hacking Password security and more. Over the next two weeks, the organising team at UK Cyber Team will decide who our United Kingdom representatives are for the European Cyber Security Challenge, taking place in Germany in October. The team are now moving into the training phase of the 2026 programme, with the clear intention of creating finalists who will place highly in the finals. If you would like to support this part of the programme, please do get in touch with the team, or with ourselves as sponsors. We're looking for any technical specialists, perhaps "ex-CTFers" at heart, that are able to deliver training (either virtually or in-person) to the ECSC team. This would be fantastic CPD, and would clearly make any application for a professional title stand out so it can benefit you as well as them.

We're holding our inaugural webinar for companies who have joined The Cyber Scheme's Accreditation Programme on June 16th, where amongst other things we will be discussing: • The creation of the Accredited Company Register, the information it will hold, and how its existence will benefit buying and selling communities • Upcoming pilots - expressions of interest will be sought from accredited companies • Our ongoing Government and Risk Management pilot, and updates on work with the UK Cyber Security Council • Recruitment pathways - discussions on our plan for bridging the gap between education and employment • Expanding the accreditation programme to include training and exam provision. We're delighted to have been working with KEYSIGMA recently on developing pathways for people wanting to begin a career in cyber, with assurance that any certifications obtained will actually lead to a job. Adam Nottage and Maisie Laing recently spent the afternoon with the team outlining how Keysigma are nurturing young talent through the Trainee Cyber Essentials Assessor programme. Keysigma are also huge advocates for the Cyber Advisor scheme, and are now the organisation with the most qualified cyber advisors in the country, as well as the distinction of having the youngest cyber advisors to have successfully passed the assessment with us. Based in Cheltenham, they are actively working to support young talent locally, and we are working with them to create a defined assessment>interview>job pathway which will benefit our accredited organisations, suitable candidates and the industry as a whole.
