ASICS and JD Sports Fashion have shown what happens when retail stops behaving like retail. Their ASICS House takeover in Soho wasn’t built around product display, it was designed as a cultural system where sound, movement, and wellness operate as equal parts of the brand experience. What stands out is the structure. Instead of a linear shop journey, the space moved between DJ-led energy, hands-on customisation, and restorative wellness sessions. That shift, from hype to reset, wasn’t accidental; it reflected ASICS’ “Sound Mind, Sound Body” philosophy in physical form. This is where physical retail is heading: not towards spectacle alone, but towards programmed environments that shape behaviour and emotion over time. Product becomes secondary, but not invisible. Sneakers sit within lived moments, customised, photographed, discussed, giving them cultural context rather than isolated visibility. The result is a space that doesn’t just showcase a brand, but builds a temporary community around it. For anyone working in brand experience, the takeaway is clear: the most effective activations today are not installations. They are systems of participation designed to be entered, used, and remembered. Last week, we brought our Huda Beauty community to London to celebrate the launch of Easy Bake Intense Fragrance 🩷 We hosted members from across Europe for a series of curated experiences designed around connection, creativity, and shared moments. From curated experiences at ABBA Voyage and the London Eye, to our largest immersive event to date featuring surprise performances from Pussycat Dolls and Central Cee. A personal highlight for me was our sensorial afternoon tea and intimate workshop at Fortnum & Mason with illustrator Elsa Gladstone, where every detail was designed to bring the world of Easy Bake Intense Fragrance to life. We also welcomed members from our UK broadcast community for the first time, marking an important step in how we continue to evolve and expand our community approach. What stood out most was how powerful in-person connection becomes when it’s rooted in genuine shared love for a brand and product. It reinforced the importance of building experiences that extend beyond launch moments, into lasting community. This is only the beginning... Special shout out to the dream team Lucia G.
