Most contractor placements look good on paper. But here’s the truth: Success isn’t measured on day one. At Brio Partners, retention is the real metric. The majority of our public sector contractors: 🔁 Extend beyond their initial term 🧩 Stay embedded across multiple delivery phases 🚀 Are re-engaged across future programmes That’s because we put long term delivery at the centre of our contractor hiring practices. Public sector contractor delivery, done properly. At Brio Partners, we support fast, secure, and sustainable contractor hiring in the public sector. Over time, we’ve placed 260+ contractors into public sector programmes across: 🏗️ Architecture 🧩 Product 📈 Delivery 💻 Software Engineering 🧪 Testing & QA Last year alone, we placed 104 contractors with a 94.8% retention rate. These are complex, high-scrutiny environments where delivery, governance, and accountability matter. But it’s not just about getting people through the door. Many of our contractors remain embedded for 12–36 months, supporting long-running transformation and delivery programmes. I'm kicking off a new project to build out a machine learning team at the cutting edge of computer vision, working in the AV / robotics space. This isn’t theoretical ML. This is about making models work in the real world. You’ll be: • Optimising neural networks for deployment on mobile and embedded hardware • Working with NPU / GPU acceleration • Pushing for high operational endurance and low power consumption • Shipping systems that actually run in the real world, not just GPUs in the cloud This is what we need: • Expert proficiency in C++ and Swift, covering development for both mobile platforms and server-side infrastructure. • Machine Learning: Deep understanding of CNNs, RNNs, and Transformers with experience in frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or CoreML. • Computer Vision: Proven experience with OpenCV and custom vision pipelines (SLAM, Optical Flow, Object Segmentation). There are multiple roles across all levels, and the common thread isn’t titles or years of experience - it’s motivation. This is for ML engineers who want to build, who feel constrained by heavy corporate structures, and who want their work to land on some of the most interesting and rewarding systems being built today. We want to speak with exceptional ML engineers in London and San Francisco who know they could be doing more impactful work than they are right now. If that resonates, let’s talk.

CV Advice! As hiring activity starts to pick up, it’s more important than ever to ensure your CV is doing its job. And in a more competitive market, the strongest CV's tend to have one thing in common - they make it immediately clear what the candidate actually delivered in each role. A common issue I’m seeing at the moment is CV's that focus heavily on technologies and project names, but don’t clearly outline the candidate’s specific responsibilities and impact. 1) Avoid long “tech stack” lists without context: It’s still very common to see profiles listing a huge range of tools and platforms without clarity on how they were applied. “Experienced in: React, Angular, Vue, Python, Java, Go, Rust, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, GCP…” In reality, listing 15+ technologies can dilute your strongest skills and raise questions around depth of experience. It’s far more effective to highlight the key technologies you’ve used consistently and explain what you delivered with them. 2) Generic statements don’t differentiate your work: Phrases like: “Improved application performance” “Optimised database queries” “Enhanced user experience” …are often too broad to create real credibility. Clear outcomes and measurable results always stand out. 3) AI-focused titles need to be reflected in the work: One trend worth calling out: “AI Engineer” is becoming a popular job title to include on CV's, even when the role hasn’t been primarily AI/ML-focused. If the majority of your work has been software engineering, platform engineering, or data engineering, it’s better to describe it accurately rather than leaning into a title that doesn’t match your day-to-day responsibilities. Hiring teams will quickly look for evidence such as: Model development or evaluation work Deployment and monitoring of ML systems Productionised inference workflows Measurable impact on performance, accuracy, or cost 4) Avoid buzzwords without evidence: AI screening is real, but a CV that reads like a buzzword-heavy checklist rarely performs well in practice. Hiring managers want substance, ownership, and outcomes, not a list of what’s currently trending. The most effective CV's do one thing exceptionally well: They clearly show what you personally delivered in the role, and the impact it had. Personalisation and clarity are what make the difference.

Right, very busy start to the year. Here's a list of live and upcoming roles. Please get in touch, if you're interested in learning more. 🤖 AI/ML Engineer (Mid Level) - Fully Remote (UK) - Start-Up If you love building with NLP / Conversational AI and want proper hands-on work with modern LLM tooling, this one’s got serious scope. ✅ Proven experience with LLMs (fine-tuning, prompt engineering) ✅ Strong GCP experience (Vertex AI, BigQuery, Dataflow) ✅ Strong Python + PyTorch / TensorFlow / JAX 📌 Great role for someone who wants to ship real AI features, not just experiment in notebooks. 🧩 Full Stack Developer (Mid Level) - London - LLM SME / Scale-Up Perfect for devs who want to be close to the cutting edge without losing the joy of actually building product. ✅ Python + LangChain 📌 You’ll be helping develop real-world LLM-powered systems with a team that’s deep in the space. 📊 Data Scientist (Senior) - London - Consultancy A proper end-to-end role for someone who likes owning the full analytical lifecycle, not just handing off models and hoping for the best. ✅ Lead methodology selection, data collection/quality, modelling + analysis. ✅ Performance monitoring + continuous improvement mindset 📌 Ideal if you enjoy variety, stakeholder impact, and solving messy real business problems. 📈 Quantitative Developer - Edinburgh / Central Belt - Financial Services For the engineers who like their code fast, accurate, and allergic to nonsense. ✅ Build and optimise low-latency pricing / risk / execution systems 📌 Strong opportunity to work on high-impact systems where performance and reliability actually matter. 🏦 FS Director - London / Hybrid - AI Consultancy Leadership hire with big growth potential — this is about building something, not babysitting something. ✅ Build and lead a division (ideal for experienced CTOs / senior leaders) 📌 If you’ve been wanting a “build the machine” role instead of just operating one… this is that. Alongside these permanent positions, we're also seeing an uptick in contractor work - especially with growing AI/ML companies, if you're an experienced contractor in the AI space, please get in touch. #Hiring #AIJobs #MachineLearning #DataScience #LLM #Python #LangChain #GCP #TechJobs #UKTech
