  • Longer range. Competitive pricing. A clear focus on the U.S. market: meet the new Volvo EX60. Now open for orders across the United States, the #EX60 enters the most competitive EV segment with a clear ambition: make premium electric mobility more accessible without compromise. Starting at $58,400, the EX60 brings together Volvo’s legacy of safety and Scandinavian design with a price point designed for scale in the U.S., a key step in supporting long-term growth ambitions in the market. But access doesn’t come at the expense of capability. The EX60 delivers Volvo’s longest electric range to date, with up to 400 miles on a single charge, addressing one of the biggest barriers to EV adoption for American drivers. Combined with fast, seamless charging, the EX60 is built to fit naturally into everyday life, whether commuting or long-distance travel. For Volvo Cars, this is more than a new model, it’s delivering on our promise — freedom to move. Electric.

As part of a world first, Volvo Cars and Google are demonstrating Google Gemini vehicle camera integration in the Volvo EX60 at this week’s Google I/O conference.    This paves the way for a future where Gemini can see and understand the world from the car’s perspective, in real time.     Imagine a driving experience where you can ask your car about a road sign you just passed, get help interpreting lane markings or learn more about a landmark or restaurant along the way.    Soon, we will also be among the first to bring Immersive Navigation from Google Maps into our cars.     With a new 3D view, Immersive Navigation offers even more intuitive guidance, helping drivers stay informed while keeping their focus on the road. At Volvo Cars, we are in the middle of one of the most significant transformations in our history, moving rapidly towards a fully electric future while strengthening our position in the global premium automotive market.   In the latest episode of the Montrose podcast, our CEO Håkan Samuelsson shares insights on this journey, including how Volvo Cars is scaling electric vehicle growth faster than many of our competitors in Europe, the strategic decisions behind our transformation, and what lies ahead as we continue to invest in next-generation platforms, software, and innovation.   It’s an honest and forward-looking conversation about industry change, global competition, and the opportunities that come with leading the shift to electrification.   Link in first comment. • Stay one step ahead. The Volvo EX30’s door opening alert helps you avoid close calls. Rear radars on the car can detect cars, cyclists, motorcyclists, scooters, and pedestrians that approach from behind. So if someone inside the parked car intends to open a door, this function can alert with visual and audible signals – helping us all arrive home safe and sound.

  • For 50 years, we’ve been dreaming electric. ⚡ Our new all-electric #EX60 SUV has our longest range to date and charges coffee stop-quick. We’ve come a long way since we put our first electric car on the roads – all the way back in 1976. This is where the dream started – tinged in tangerine. With a name that literally means 'electric car', Volvo Elbil first saw the light of day in Gothenburg in November 1976. The #Elbil 1976 prototype was created to demonstrate the new possibilities of electric technology. Despite its boxy shape and tiny wheels, it could reach a top speed of 70 km/h, and in true Volvo fashion, every seat was fitted with a three-point safety belt. Its range was modest, though: a ten-hour charge delivered around 50 kilometres of range, translating to roughly two hours of driving. Fast forward to today and we're out here with charging speeds unthinkable 50 years ago with the EX60 adding 340 km of range in about 10 minutes of charge time; just quick enough to down a coffee and get back on the road.

  • It’s a tough job But someone has to do it. Since the 1970s, our #dummies have let us test innovations that help protect real people, not just meet regulations. That's half a century of impact. We also give our physical dummies a break, by simulating crashes with digital bodies of all shapes and sizes. That way we can improve our cars’ safety even before they’re built. It’s the virtual route to real protection.

  • Design evolves through conversation, context and craft. Milan remains one of the most meaningful stages for that exchange.   At the Milan Design Week, our designers Cecilia Stark and Rekha Meena joined the global design community to explore how Volvo Cars balances timelessness and futurism — grounding innovation in Scandinavian values, material integrity and sensory experience.   Highlights from the dialogue: • Timelessness as a practice, materials built to endure, where tactile quality matters as much as aesthetic intent. • Futurism rooted in nature, craftsmanship and cross-disciplinary influence, shaping the emotional experience of a car. • Design as a reflection of contemporary Scandinavian living — serene, functional and authentic.   The EX60 and EX30 were not just on display. They stood as tangible expressions of how heritage and progress converge in our latest work.

  • With the EX60 entering production, we are reducing emissions at the source, starting with the steel that shapes the car. Together with Swedish steelmaker SSAB, we are advancing the use of lower-carbon steel in the new Volvo EX60. It is now the first commercially available car in the world to contain SSAB Zero steel, produced with near-zero carbon emissions in the steelmaking process. As a result, the carbon footprint of those components is 70% lower compared with conventional steel. Our partnership with SSAB reflects a broader ambition: reducing emissions at every step, from manufacturing to the materials that we use. Get a glimpse of how material innovation becomes real on the production line.
