Yesterday, Mölnlycke participated in the signing of a joint declaration of intent to strengthen West Sweden’s life science ecosystem. As part of our continuing growth journey, we’ve just completed a significant investment in our manufacturing site in Oldham, UK to manage growing product demand. Today, we have officially opened new state-of-the-art facilities, allowing for an increase in global manufacturing. The new facilities not only allow for an expansion of production, but help to reduce lead times and improve supply chain resilience for Mölnlycke advanced wound care products in the UK, and beyond. Michelle Burns, General Manager, Manufacturing UK, said: “This investment is an important step for our Oldham site, strengthening our ability to increase manufacturing of essential wound care products, while reducing transport distances and improving supply chain resilience. Having been part of the Oldham community since 1952, we’re proud of the role our team plays locally and within Mölnlycke’s global network, and this investment supports future growth.” #manufacturing Mölnlycke Health Care UK

We took 1st place at the Kong AI Governance Hackathon at Vivicta, organised by 2Hero! Our colleagues Dr.-Ing. Nils Gessert, Manager Data Science and Daniel Bünger von Wurmb, Director Digital Product Management, represented the winning team developing an innovative solution to support key regulatory requirements for AI agents in clinical decision support. “We are already exploring ways to integrate these capabilities into our core technology stack.” says Dr. Nils Gessert. Congratulations to everyone involved in this inspiring collaboration!
Huge congrats to team Mölnlycke Health Care who took 1st place at the Kong AI Governance Hackathon at Vivicta — organized by 2Hero! ❤️🏆 Dr.-Ing. Nils Gessert, Manager Data Science, and Daniel Bünger von Wurmb, Director Digital Product Management at Mölnlycke, contributed a real-world business case to the hackathon. Daniel said he was inspired by Peter Sundström, AI & Digital Transformation Manager at Saab, who won the Proxify Business Value Hackathon with a team from Chas Academy — and wanted to participate in a hackathon as an idea submitter himself! The hackathon team Bonsai — NA ZANG, Xiaoliang Gao, Qi Dang, and Natalia Nefedova — took on the challenge. They developed an innovative solution designed to support key regulatory requirements for AI agents used in clinical decision support. Leveraging Kong's advanced features for PII detection and prompt injection guardrails, they successfully hardened the agent against sensitive and malicious inputs. The team also implemented robust monitoring mechanisms to account for potential LLM API degradations, laying a strong foundation for post-market surveillance activities. The jury consisted of 40+ tech executives from leading enterprises and fast-growing companies — and Mölnlycke's demo scored the most points! "We were highly impressed by the ingenuity of the team's solution and their rapid execution," says Dr. Nils Gessert. "We are already exploring ways to integrate these robust capabilities into our core tech stack." Amazing work! 🏆

We’ve taken another important step in accelerating the transition towards more sustainable healthcare in Sweden – including the environmental, social, and economic factors. Yesterday, our own Kristina Lönnqvist, Global Corporate Sustainability Director and @Emma Hellqvist, Commercial Sustainability Lead, Region North, joined Sweden’s National Climate Initiative’s first workshop on circular economy business models and solutions. The objective of the workshop was to align around shared priorities and identify goal-oriented workstreams for future collaboration across the value chain. To this end, the sessions focused on the many ways circularity principles can be applied to reduce healthcare’s carbon footprint and its dependency on finite fossil fuels, including: • circular product design • renewable raw materials • designing for longer lifve spans • recycling and resource recovery • circular business models • digital solutions enabling traceability throughout the product’s life cycle The conversations highlighted both the opportunities and complexities involved in advancing sustainable healthcare: delivering efficient patient outcomes while minimising the impact on people and planet and continuing to meet strict requirements related to patient safety, product performance, traceability and waste handling. “As we look to advance sustainable healthcare, we need solutions that support both healthcare professionals and patients, while also reducing environmental impact. It was very valuable to exchange perspectives across the value chain on how circular approaches can help address these challenges together,” says Emma Hellqvist, Commercial Sustainability Lead, Region North. Our thanks to RISE Research Institutes of Sweden for spearheading the workshop and the entire initiative and we look forward to continuing this important collaboration together with other stakeholders across the healthcare ecosystem. Today marks International Nurses’ Day where focus is on empowering nurses to save lives. So we ask: what do nurses need to feel empowered in today’s world? In the video below, Tissue Viability Nursing Consultant Luxmi Dhoonmoon and Executive Nurse Director Jenni MacDonald share specifics on how we can empower nurses. Value-based impact starts with a bold purpose and happens through outcome-driven action. Let’s push for real empowerment.
