We are continuing to highlight the inspiring career journeys of our colleagues. In a recent conversation, our Head of Talent Management, Abigail Tidmarsh, sat down with Tom Smith, Managing Director of Traka UK, to learn more about his 12-year career with us. Tom’s journey with ASSA ABLOY began in 2013, when he joined Traka as a Junior Sales representative. That first role marked the start of a long-standing career, shaped by a welcoming culture and clear opportunities for growth within the organization. “I quickly felt that Traka was the right place for me. I saw others grow in the business and recognized the opportunities ahead. Being part of the wider ASSA ABLOY Group also appealed to me, as it meant I could explore different paths in the future. Although my journey has stayed within Traka, the broad opportunities still excite me. I always knew it could offer a long-term career, not just a job.” Over the years, Tom has been part of a diverse set of trainings and development programs, supporting his personal and professional growth. And in May 2024, he entered his current position as Managing Director for the Traka UK business. “My career goal has always been to reach this point. Years ago, I might not have believed it was possible, but I’ve learned that at ASSA ABLOY there’s no ceiling. If you’re driven and put in the effort, the business supports your growth. As I moved through different roles, I stayed focused on how I could continue developing and progressing with the excellent support of my managers — leading me to where I am today, marking an important milestone in my career.” #assaabloy #assaabloyglobalsolutions #career
