How do you sustainably manage water resources across an entire river basin? A big part of the answer lies in understanding how groundwater systems work and how they interact across the catchment. That’s why we’re working with the DSI - General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works to deliver comprehensive hydrogeological studies across the Euphrates River Basin, Türkiye's largest river basin lying in one of the country’s most water-stressed regions. Spanning large parts of eastern and southeastern Türkiye, it supports millions of people, agriculture and energy production. As water resources come under growing pressure from climate change, population growth and agricultural demand, understanding what's happening below the surface is critical. Our work combines field investigations with existing datasets and advanced analysis to build a clearer picture of aquifer systems, groundwater flows and regional hydrogeology. These insights will support DSI’s decision making on water allocation and long term planning, helping to protect critical groundwater resources and strengthen climate resilience across the basin. The project also builds on previous work we delivered for DSI to support the EU’s River Management Plans in the Kızılırmak River Basin, Türkiye’s second largest river basin. We’re supporting one of the UK’s most significant offshore wind developments, delivering a major geotechnical investigation campaign for SSE Renewables at the Berwick Bank B offshore wind farm site off the coast of Scotland. Using our geotechnical vessels Fugro Quest and Fugro Zenith, we’ll gather high-quality #GeoData to inform the final design of fixed-bottom turbine foundations, helping to derisk construction and support safe, reliable turbine installations. Building on our involvement at Berwick Bank since 2019, we’re proud to continue working on a project that could become the world’s largest offshore wind farm on completion, with the potential to generate enough clean electricity to power more than six million UK homes each year. #OffshoreWind #MarineSiteCharacterisation #CleanEnergy #EnergySecurity #BerwickBank

Infrastructure doesn’t stand still. Rivers shift, ground conditions change, and operational needs evolve, making reliable, up-to-date geospatial data essential to managing infrastructure over time. Against this backdrop, the US Army Corps of Engineers has awarded Fugro a five-year IDIQ contract for surveying and mapping services supporting civil works and military infrastructure programmes across the US and overseas. Our work will focus on delivering decision-ready data for long-term infrastructure planning, monitoring, and management, combining crewed and uncrewed platforms with cloud-based, AI-enabled data processing and expert oversight. Unexplained underground water can quietly put an entire building at risk. In a high‑end residential compound in Cairo, persistent underground water threatened a building. Traditional investigations couldn’t pinpoint the source, and further drilling risked making things worse. We applied our GroundIQ® ground‑modelling approach, combining non‑intrusive surveys with existing borehole data to build a full 3D picture of the subsurface.
