  • Our management team led by our MD, Girish Sharma paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mr. Olanipekun Olukoyede. The Commission was commended for the stellar work they are doing in delivering their mandate. Conversations centred on the financial dimensions of the illicit alcohol trade and the role of stronger enforcement in protecting Nigeria's economy. The team underscored the importance of enforcement that targets the financiers, and money flows behind these operations, alongside continued product-level action. Opportunities for closer collaboration were also explored, particularly around intelligence sharing on illicit financial flows, asset tracing, and the disruption of organized networks, all critical to safeguarding government revenue and ensuring a level playing field for compliant manufacturers. We thank the Chairman and the EFCC team for the warm reception and constructive engagement, and we look forward to building on this partnership. At Guinness we are committed to a smooth working experience with all our stakeholders as we continue to build for more.

Strengthening Industry-Government Dialogue On Monday, 11 May 2026, the Beer Sectoral Group (BSG) convened a strategic engagement with the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Alhaji Bashir Adeniyi, MFR, a meeting that reflects the industry's sustained commitment to constructive dialogue with key government stakeholders. The BSG delegation was led by Girish Sharma, CEO of Guinness Nigeria Plc and Nick Kade, CEO of International Breweries Plc, alongside BSG Executive Director, Abiola Laseinde, FCIS, M.CIoD.  Also in attendance were the Corporate Affairs Directors and Heads of Policy from Nigerian Breweries Plc, International Breweries Plc, and Guinness Nigeria Plc. The discussions centred on strengthening the policy environment for a sustainable, well-regulated brewing industry, one that supports operational efficiency, drives national economic growth, and enables the sector to continue delivering value at scale. As the collective voice of Nigeria's beer industry, the BSG remains steadfast in its role as a credible partner to government, advancing policy frameworks that balance industry sustainability with broader national interests. The scale of the sector's contribution speaks for itself: BSG member companies collectively supports over three million jobs across direct and indirect employment, while contributing $1.8 billion to Nigeria's GDP, a testament to the brewing industry's role as a significant driver of economic activity and livelihoods across the value chain. The BSG looks forward to continued collaboration with the Nigeria Customs Service and all relevant government agencies as we work together to build a thriving, responsible, and globally competitive brewing sector. #BSG #stakeholderengagement #nigeriacustoms #industrydialogue #collaboration #beerindustrynigeria

  • At Guinness Nigeria, we recognise the importance of strong partnerships in driving sustainable business growth and national development. Today, our management team led by our MD, Girish Sharma, paid a courtesy visit to the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, to commend the Nigeria Police Force on its sustained efforts to safeguard lives, property, and national stability. The visit reinforced this longstanding relationship and opened conversations on areas of shared concern, chief among them, the growing menace of illicit alcohol, which poses serious health risks to consumers and undermines legitimate industry and government revenue alike. Discussions also touched on deeper collaboration around intelligence sharing, crisis response, and the establishment of a more structured engagement framework to support faster coordination on matters of mutual interest. We appreciate the IGP and his team for the warm reception and the candid exchange, and we look forward to building on this engagement in the months ahead. #GuinnessNigeria

The session provided an important platform to strengthen relationships, exchange perspectives, and reinforce our commitment to transparency, collaboration, and responsible business practices. Beyond the conversations, guests were also taken on a guided brewery tour, offering a closer look at our operations, quality processes, and the passion that goes into delivering our brands to consumers every day. We appreciate our media partners for the insightful engagement and continued support as we collectively shape conversations that drive impact and shared value.

  • Today, Guinness Nigeria turns 76. For over seven decades, we have built more than a business, we have built a legacy. From our pioneering beginnings in 1950, to commissioning the first Guinness brewery outside Ireland and the UK, to becoming one of Nigeria’s most respected total beverage companies, our journey has been defined by resilience, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. The company we are building for the future is bolder than the one we have been. More agile. More consumer obsessed. More disciplined in how we operate. More ambitious in what we deliver. We are building for more. More reach, more relevance, and more reasons to be a company greatly treasured by all Nigerians. Thank you for the role you play in our story. Thank you for helping us celebrate life, every day, everywhere. The best of Guinness Nigeria is still ahead. Happy 76th Anniversary. #GuinnessAt76 #BuildingForMore

  • Today is World Day for Safety and Health at Work. This year, we're looking beyond the helmets and the boots to ask a bigger question: how's work? Not the deliverables. You. Because a truly safe workplace protects the mind and emotions just as much as the body. The Guinness Nigeria HR and Safety Teams are proud to champion a healthy psychosocial working environment, today and every day. #HowsWork #WorldSafetyDay
