Nomura's securitization platform continues its winning streak at GlobalCapital's 2026 US Securitization Awards. We’re proud to have won RMBS Bank of the Year for an unprecedented fourth year running, alongside RMBS Trading House of the Year. Complimenting these house honors, we were recognized for our role on CMBS Deal of the Year, and Brian Wall, Vice President, has been named Securitization Rising Star of the Year, celebrating both our transactional excellence and the exceptional talent driving our future success. “Securing this industry-voted title for a fourth consecutive year validates our position as the leading partner in the RMBS space and reflects the premium our clients place on execution in a market often dominated by balance-sheet-first competitors," said Sanil Patel, Global Head of Mortgage Structured Lending and Global Co-Head of Real Estate Finance at Nomura. "By prioritizing bespoke structuring and intellectual capital, we successfully navigated a complex rate environment to underwrite more than 200 securitizations in 2025, a clear signal that clients value sophisticated structuring and distribution reach over simple balance-sheet capacity. Thank you to all our clients, peers, and partners who voted for our team. These awards reflect our shared commitment to excellence, and we look forward to continuing to deliver innovative solutions and exceptional service in the year ahead.

In recognition of Earth Day this April, our teams across Asia participated in activities that demonstrate our commitment to the environment. We built solar lights for Cambodian children, recycled soap for communities in need, collected trash, upcycled notebooks for students, and joined like-minded peers at Time Auction's Eco-Community event. We would like to thank the following organizations who helped us facilitate these meaningful activities: Heysprouts, Learning Links Foundation, Soap Cycling, Stridy, Time Auction and WWF-Singapore. This year's theme, "Our Power, Our Planet," reminds us that environmental progress is driven by community, education and local action, and that each of us has the power to make a difference. We are committed to sustaining this momentum and giving back to our planet and communities year-round.

We were delighted to sponsor for the second time GlobalCapital’s recent UK Debt Management Office (DMO) Roundtable Discussion: Confronting Global Turmoil. Against a backdrop of global economic uncertainty following the Middle East crisis, Global Capital assembled the DMO's chief executive, Jessica Pulay, Carina Lindberg, Head of Sterling Rates Trading at Nomura, and other key market makers and investors to consider the DMO's performance and the evolution of the Gilt market. UK DMO Roundtable - confronting global turmoil Tactical adaptations helped the UK Debt Management Office achieve the second largest financing remit in its history in fiscal year 2025/2026. If it found last year challenging for borrowing, it may be nothing compared to the one that has just begun. The DMO received its remit for 2026/2027 only a few days after war erupted in the Middle East. How much the government and the Bank of England will have to intervene to help the economy during the crisis and its aftermath is the subject of much uncertainty. However things play out, they raise the prospect for Gilt-Edged Market Makers, the UK’s primary dealers, and investors of higher public spending, rising inflation and increases in interest rates; not the cuts that were forecast at the beginning of 2026. Against this backdrop, GlobalCapital assembled the DMO’s chief executive, market participants and investors for this roundtable to consider the Office’s performance and the evolution of the Gilt market. Read the report here https://lnkd.in/evwUrRQP Thanks to our roundtable participants: Matt Amis, CFA, investment director, Aberdeen James Athey, fixed income fund manager, Marlborough Ian Hale, head of European inflation trading, RBC Capital Markets Carina Lindberg, head of GBP trading, Nomura David Parkinson, head of sterling rates sales, Santander Jessica Pulay, chief executive officer, UK Debt Management Office Gordon Shannon, CFA, partner, co-head of investment grade, TwentyFour Asset Management LLP Asset Management Moderator: Addison Gong, SSA editor, GlobalCapital And thanks to our sponsors - Nomura, RBC Capital Markets and Santander #FixedIncome #Gilts #SovereignDebt #DMO #Rates #BondMarkets #InstitutionalInvestors #CapitalMarkets #UKMarkets #GlobalCapital

As part of our series introducing the Nomura Well-Growing Institute (WGI), we’re highlighting philanthropic and social impact initiatives under one of WGI’s key themes: Connection. At Nomura, we contribute to society through a wide range of initiatives, including donations to NPOs and other organizations, disaster relief and recovery support, and employee-led social impact projects. These efforts reflect WGI’s commitment to supporting people as they take on challenges and continue to grow. Recently, we joined a manga donation project organized by the Japan Philanthropic Association. Employees and executives shared their favorite manga and messages, and donated over 420 books to organizations and facilities that help create safe, supportive spaces for children. We hope this project helps open up new horizons for many children.

What is the Nomura Well-Growing Institute (WGI)? “Well-growing” is a new concept developed by Nomura. It refers to the ongoing process of learning, taking on new challenges, and continuing to grow in order to improve wellbeing. The Well-Growing Institute aims to realize “a better world” where everyone can experience long-term well-being, and is committed to supporting people as they take on challenges and continue to grow. Its initial focus will be on three priority areas: learning, connection, and the essentials of food, shelter, and clothing. Guided by Nomura’s Group Purpose, WGI will be involved in social impact initiatives, charitable giving, research, business development, and investment in startups using our own capital. Yesterday, we unveiled the WGI logo, which features the institute’s initials along with an upward-moving curve graphic. The curve conveys a sense of growth, empowerment, and continuity, visually reflecting the institute’s mission and its intended impacts on communities and the society. Stay tuned for more updates on the Well-Growing Institute.

Can social media help drive policy change in Japan? Although the Japanese economy is experiencing a resurgence, the nation must address demographic challenges such as the ‘silver democracy’ trap to sustain its growth trajectory. Around 30% of Japan’s population is aged 65 or older, but the group accounts for around 40% of voters in national elections. We explore how this cohort of voters in their silver years discourages governments from adopting policies focused on future growth. We also analyze how social media is driving greater voter engagement among younger generations and raising awareness of growth-oriented policies. Forward thinking fiscal policy and bold government initiatives from the Takaichi administration can further fuel Japan’s economic boom. We saw a great blend of energy, collaboration, and conversations at our Powai, Mumbai office’s intern networking session. We recently hosted over 100 talented interns from across businesses for an interactive L&D-facilitated workshop focused on connection, collaboration and peer learning. The session provided an opportunity for interns to step beyond their day-to-day roles, engage with one another, and build meaningful professional connections. From interactive activities to candid conversations over high tea, it was exciting to see future talent learning from each other and expanding their networks across the organization. #networking #talentdevelopment
