At our GBS India center, engaging and celebrating our people starts with creating opportunities to contribute with purpose. As part of our maiden Sweethearts community outreach initiative, colleagues across the GBS team partnered with NGO Good Universe for a local clean-up drive, coming together to take action in the neighborhood around us. More than 20 associates volunteered their time, helping reduce inorganic waste along our main street, with all collected waste segregated, treated and sent for recycling. What mattered most was not the activity itself, but the shared sense of ownership, team spirit and passion it fostered. Moments like this reflect the culture we continue to build at GBS India, where people are empowered to make a difference together.

Building a strong learning culture is central to how we grow at GBS India. To strengthen our expertise around our Callebaut Belgium 1911 Signature Collection, our GBS India colleagues recently joined a Callebaut Masters of Taste session, an immersive experience curated by our Sales Team and the chefs from the Callebaut Chocolate Academy, India.  The session introduced the Callebaut Taste Wheel™, from primary taste and aroma to mouthfeel and flavor categories. We saw how every step in the bean-to-bar process shapes the final chocolate.    This hands-on experience helped us evaluate, understand and enjoy how recipe, origin, and process define each chocolate’s profile – enriching our product knowledge and appreciation for craftsmanship. Earlier this year we launched the Campus Internship/Graduate Hire Program, just months after our GBS operations began in India and this was a bold step towards building a strong talent pipeline. We visited 3 engineering colleges in Hyderabad, screened 3000+ students and today we celebrate a 100% conversion rate — all 5 interns are now full-time employees! This milestone reflects the strength of our selection process and the mentorship by BC leaders. Empowering all GBS associates to better collaborate with their colleagues and customers across geographies is paramount to company’s GBS strategy. To support this requirement, we at Barry Callebaut GBS India LLP, designed and delivered a program called “Working with Global Professionals” in collaboration with Kauser Khan from PROTOCOL- Corporate Training & Finishing School over the past 6 months. This one-day immersive program brought together colleagues across functions to explore cultural nuances, understanding work styles and strengthen global collaboration through interactive role plays, case studies, and real-world scenarios.

Team spirit doesn’t stop at the office door—and the recent Callebaut Premier League (CPL) was proof! On 29-30th August, we hosted our very first CPL cricket championship, bringing together 6 spirited teams from across functions. From Blazing Callets to Ruby Rockers each team name reflected our shared love for chocolate, and our passion for competition. But CPL wasn’t just about scoring runs and taking wickets. It was about breaking silos, building bonds and celebrating the energy that makes our workplace special! Here’s to the power of sport, team spirit and the shared passion for chocolate and cocoa!

At Barry Callebaut, we want every colleague to experience the journey of chocolate - from raw ingredients to finished creations. That’s why we launched the Factory Experience Program. The first group of 12 associates visited our largest manufacturing site in Baramati, Maharashtra, India, where they saw chocolate making up close including operations, safety protocols and quality standards in action while also enjoying moments of team bonding from a road trip to trekking in Lonavala. 💬 “Visiting the Baramati Chocolate Factory was an eye-opening experience.
