✨ Special Guest at This Year's Bison & Salmon Night ✨ Join us on 17 June for an evening that pairs great food with important conversation This year's Bison & Salmon Night will feature a fireside chat between Chamber President Nicholas Sarvari and Áron Timár , the creator behind The Price of a Vote — the groundbreaking documentary that exposed rural vote-buying in Hungary and mobilized thousands of citizens to serve as election observers during the April 2026 parliamentary election. Áron will share insights from his work on the film, the nationwide monitoring operation it inspired, and what both revealed about Hungary's political landscape. The conversation will then explore a question highly relevant to international business in Hungary: What role can bilateral business organizations and the private sector play in supporting civil society? All of this, combined with the Canadian bison, fresh salmon, unlimited food and drinks, and the great company that make this evening a highlight of our calendar.

Budapest looks different from the water. On June 11, the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Hungary and the GoodWill Consulting Group invite you to a Business Breakfast aboard the Kisfaludy Paddle Steamer — one of Budapest's most iconic vessels, chosen for a reason: open decks, covered sections, and a setting that works whatever the weather brings. From 08:30, guests are welcome on board. We set sail at 09:00. Over two hours on the Danube, attendees will have the opportunity to meet the companies of the GoodWill Group — and learn how an integrated group of businesses can support clients more effectively, whether through market-based engagements or grant-funded projects. Joining the morning: – Goodwill Consulting – Goodwill Energy – Goodroid – Good Times – Event & Marketing – Harsányi Pincészet & Dűlő Bisztő Breakfast, wine tasting, and genuine conversation — with Budapest as the backdrop. An engineer may dream of building a bridge over a great distance, but it takes the collaboration of people to build it. Two days in Budapest left one clear impression: the Canada–EU SAFE conversation has moved from political possibility to serious industrial momentum. The political bridge between Canada and the EU has been designed; the work of building it now belongs to the people and the institutions ready to work together. The Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Hungary was proud to host the sold-out Canada–EU SAFE Conference at the Bálna Defence Centre — 200 participants across two days of panels, fireside chats, and B2B and B2G matchmaking. Canadian and European primes were present at executive level. Senior policy figures included John Hannaford, Personal Representative of the Prime Minister of Canada to the EU, Joost Korte, EU–Canada Partnership Special Envoy, Ambassador Francois Lafreniere, Dr Luisa Riccardi, Deputy National Armament Director of Italy, and senior representatives from the Provinces of Ontario and Alberta. The bilateral agreement signed in Munich gives Canadian content access well beyond the third-country ceiling that applies to other non-EU participants — a structural advantage no other non-European partner can replicate. Every project drawing on Canadian participation also generates a contribution into the Commission's fund supporting Ukraine. After thirty years of building community among Canadians in Hungary, CCCH is stepping fully into its role as an advocate for Canadian business interests in Europe. Much of the potential ahead sits in the synergies with the other CanCham organizations across Europe — a network that helps Canadian business reach into Europe and brings European business into Canada. For Canadian companies, the message is direct: the window for early positioning is open now. The foundation is in place. The collaboration to build is well underway. We will reconvene in Budapest in 2027 to present a SAFE Report Card — a measurable account of what has been delivered. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the sponsors and partners whose support made this conference possible: Platinum Sponsors: CAE | Global Affairs Canada | Affaires mondiales Canada | 4iG Space and Defence Technologies Sponsors & Exhibitors: DND | Kinstellar| Eutelsat| LeitnerLeitner Hungary | Pro Patria Electronics | Base Camp Connect | General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada| Ghibli Group | Bombardier Defense | Rheinmetall| ERA | MPF Industry Group Event Partners: FIRST Craft Beer | Harsányi Pincészet | Kimpton BEM Budapest by IHG | The Box Donut | ChocoMe | ChocolateJam | Varsányi Pincészet

Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Hungary újraposztolta ezt
Every chamber event has its own special atmosphere and value, but somehow this past Friday truly stood out from the rest. 😊 At the event organized by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Hungary this time we stepped away from the usual networking format and enjoyed something much more dynamic: while learning and playing padel, we had great conversations, built new connections like with Málnási Kinga Eszter Nelli Jacobs and met inspiring people in a relaxed and energetic environment. It was a pleasure to represent and strengthen the Generali IDT team together with my colleague Kiss Róbert . By the end of the evening we were pleasantly exhausted — and luckily, we managed to avoid the rain just in time. 😄 A huge thank you once again to Csilla Nagypál-Kuhár and Bernadett Kavalecz for their fantastic organization and for creating such a memorable experience. 👏 Events like this are always a great reminder that behind every successful business relationship, there is genuine human connection. 💙

The Maple Padel Mixer brought together members and friends at Padel Garden on Római part for an afternoon of padel, coaching, and genuine connection. It rained all day in Budapest - except, somehow, for exactly those four hours. Turns out the good weather also read the agenda and showed up on time. Whether it was someone's first time on a padel court or their hundredth, the energy was the same: warm, competitive, and full of good spirit. By the end of the afternoon, what stayed with everyone wasn't the score — it was the conversations. A huge thank you to our sponsors who made this afternoon possible: - Cerbona - Borsodi Sörgyár - CoCos Premium Coconut Water - Gelato Italiano - Viblance Hungary And a special thank you to FirstMed for sponsoring the fresh fruits and water — very appreciated touch! We look forward to seeing you at our next event — whether on the court or around the table. 🍁 #MaplePadelMixer #PadelTogether #CanadianChamberHungary #CCCH #Budapest #Networking

The Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Hungary was proud to host the sold-out Canada–EU SAFE Conference at the Bálna Defence Centre — 200 participants across two days of panels, fireside chats, and B2B and B2G matchmaking. Canadian and Canadian-anchored industry was present at executive level — CAE, Bombardier, Bell, General Dynamics, and Rheinmetall. European primes included Leonardo, Eutelsat, and ProPatria. Senior policy figures included John Hannaford, Personal Representative of the Prime Minister of Canada to the EU, Joost Korte, EU–Canada Partnership Special Envoy, Ambassador Francois Lafreniere, Dr Luisa Riccardi, Deputy National Armament Director of Italy and senior representatives from the EID, EDC, the Canadian Commercial Corporation, and the Provinces of Ontario and Alberta. Day one of the SAFE Conference highlighted how quickly the conversation around European and Canadian defence cooperation is evolving. What stood out was the range of participants in the room. Established Tier 1 Canadian and European defence primes and top level policymakers sat alongside smaller and emerging firms, all working to understand where this new landscape is heading and where they fit. The discussions made one thing clear. SAFE reflects a broader shift toward trusted industrial partnerships, resilient supply chains, sovereign capability, and long-term strategic alignment between Europe and Canada. Funding is only one part of that picture — Canada’s involvement is about being eligible to play in scaling and diversifying capabilities. Canada's entry into the programme is no longer treated as a future policy possibility. The focus now is practical: how this strategic pivot can translate into real business opportunities, partnerships, and market access on both sides of the Atlantic. Strong discussions, engaged participants, and a grounded conversation about where things are heading. The real test will be whether the procurement architecture catches up with the political momentum. Looking forward to day two.
