    Maison Martell (Martell Mumm Perrier-Jouët) in Cognac, France was proud to host Serge Papin, French delegate Minister for SMEs, Trade, Crafts, and Tourism. His visit to the heart of the Cognac industry was to highlight the strategic role that spirits tourism plays in France. Martell is open to the public, with tours, a boutique, Indigo rooftop bar with views over the region and also the Martell Corporatate Foundation (Fondation d'entreprise Martell) - a research and experimentation platform for designers, artists, and researchers. The visit was also an opportunity to discuss the importance of the Chinese and American markets for the entire industry and how constructive diplomatic and trade relations can sustainably support the sector.     How many of us can relate to thinking “we’ve always done it this way”? This is why risk often starts with routine. So for World Day for Safety and Health at Work we’re proud to highlight the efforts of Maison Martell in Cognac, France.  Martell’s initiative ‘stop the habit of risk’ helped to flag and fix over 200+ situations. They developed a program to stop normalising risk, and to instead, stop, think and act. Since the launch of the group wide initiative ‘Be the One’, Pernod Ricard is proud to have achieved over two years a 69% decrease in both with and without stop work accidents and a 64% decrease in the frequency rate of both with and without stop work accidents over the same period. Thank you to everyone for your ongoing commitment to making all our workplaces safer. The conversation highlighted a clear shift: sustainability is no longer aspirational. Today, it is a strategic condition that influences investment decisions, operational models and long-term competitiveness. At Pernod Ricard, sustainability is fully embedded in our business strategy—integrated into governance, risk management, innovation and day‑to‑day operations. This approach enables us to strengthen resilience, drive circularity and protect the natural resources and terroirs that are essential to our value chain. A key takeaway from the panel was clear: sustainability builds credibility in the short term, competitiveness in the medium term, and leadership in the long term.
