Ambassador of Spain to Latvia, H.E. Mr Manuel Alhama Orenes, visited Patria’s facilities in Valmiera and the Defence Partnership Latvia site. 🇪🇸🤝🇱🇻 The Ambassador was welcomed by Patria’s Site Director Arnis Irbens and Operations Development and Support Director Didzis Veidenbaums. During the visit, the Patria team introduced the activities and future development plans, including cooperation with the Spanish company GDLS Santa Bárbara Sistemas on establishing an ASCOD infantry fighting vehicle assembly line in Valmiera. Discussions were formed on strengthening international cooperation, innovation, education and economic development opportunities between Latvia and Spain. Patria joined the Finnish business delegation accompanying President Alexander Stubb on his state visit to Lithuania last week. 🇱🇹 🇫🇮 During the visit, Patria’s President and CEO Panu Routila presented Patria’s offering with a focus on the Patria 6x6 and the multinational Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) programme, highlighting their vital role in strengthening European defence cooperation. The visit and business forum brought together Finnish and Lithuanian industry leaders, supporting deeper trade relations and long-term cooperation between the countries. IDEB defence exhibition in Bratislava, Slovakia wrapped up on a high note. On day 3, Patria had the honour of welcoming both the President Peter Pellegrini and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the Slovak Republic Robert Kaliňák to our stand where they viewed the Patria AMV XP 8x8 armoured vehicle in use in Slovakia.  Our armoured vehicles continued to attract plenty of attention and sparked lively conversations among visitors of all ages. Securing UAV networks in contested environments 🛡️ Patria CANDL (Compact Airborne Networking Data Link) is a data link system that provides a communication network for applications requiring high reliability and security in contested environments. It ensures that the situational awareness of the various actors remains uninterrupted, even as the operational environment and its conditions change. The system is based on a compact Software Defined Radio (SDR) architecture, enabling a dynamic mesh network that connects up to 24 nodes. It provides a high level of security through frequency hopping and encryption, offering excellent resilience against interception and jamming without the need for external references for time synchronisation.
