Towards a Finnish Health Data Space with a new research project 🌐   Orion Pharma Veturi research ecosystem project, led by University of Helsinki, aims to improve the use of health data in research, the development of new treatments, and patient care.   The project will develop a new operational model that enables more efficient use of health data collected from patients.   To enhance the availability of data for disease research and innovation, the project will:   🌐 Create a secure framework for using health data in research and development 🛜 Develop solutions that enable easier integration and use of data 💡 Leverage artificial intelligence to assess disease progression and treatment effectiveness 📝 Streamline permit processes and reduce bureaucracy   The project is implemented by the Orion Pharma Veturi consortium, bringing together experts from research, healthcare, and industry. What does good asthma control look like in practice? 🫁 Guidance from the Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA) increasingly emphasises a long-term approach to asthma management. Control is today understood through day-to-day impact: how consistently a person can live, work, sleep, and stay active without asthma shaping everyday decisions. I was honoured to represent Orion Pharma today at the residence of Teemu Turunen, Finnish Ambassador to the UK. I was joined by my colleague, Charles de Wet who is pictured with me outside the residence. The invitation came from Technology Academy Finland (TAF), and was part of their work to raise awareness for the Millenium Technology Prize.
