We are pleased to share the first episode of the Origins podcast since Elizabeth 'Beezer' Clarkson and her team joined LGT Capital Partners as part of the Sapphire Partners integration announced in April. Origins and the OpenLP platform have moved across with the team, and we very much look forward to continuing the conversation the team has built with the venture community over the past years. In this episode, co-hosts Beezer and Nicholas Chirls (Asylum) sit down with Nicholas Csicsko, Managing Director of Investments at Trinity Church NYC Wall Street – a classically trained musician with a doctorate from Juilliard who now helps oversee a diversified investment pool of more than USD 4 billion. The discussion explores what LPs really look for in venture managers, the tension between patient capital and liquidity, the disconnect between private and public market valuations and why the best GPs are those who know themselves deeply. A thoughtful listen for anyone close to venture and institutional investing: https://lnkd.in/e4RDWbu8

Liquidity has always been a core element of venture capital’s value proposition. For decades, companies matured in private markets before exiting through IPOs or acquisitions. Today, liquidity is less about market-driven events and more about engineered, negotiated and permissioned processes. As traditional exits have faded, secondary markets have become a cornerstone of venture liquidity. For investors, this can create attractive opportunities. We wrapped up our secondaries roundtable in Stockholm yesterday and Copenhagen today, bringing together clients for a focused discussion on the growing role of private market secondaries across private equity, private credit and infrastructure. A central theme across both sessions was the strong growth of the secondaries market. With liquidity remaining scarce, this is fuelling both sides of the market: LP‑stakes, which have become an important portfolio management tool and GP‑led solutions, including single‑asset continuation vehicles. Insights from André Aubert and Felix Janssen, both partners at LGT Capital Partners and Martin Patek, Executive Director at LGT Capital Partners, highlighted how these trends are influencing private equity, private credit and infrastructure as the market evolves.
