In a move *No one* saw coming, Open AI is closing down their gen AI video platform Sora. … I say *No one* because anyone like myself who lives on short form video platforms (tiktok for me) saw this coming a mile off. People watch videos for human connection, not machine slop. The pushback and hate on AI video is a visceral witch hunt these days. Open AI are not only getting rid of the app, but also the API as well which signals a close of their platform as a whole. Why do you think they made this drastic sudden change? Want to scale your social media video output without using AI slop? Send me a message - we are working on something for you :)

My tiktok feed is full of people complaining about gen AI slop and gen AI scams. Here is exactly how they work: --- > How to scam people on social media in 2026 with genAI: <--- Step 1: Choose a product -> this could be slippers, crochet flowers, dragon bags etc. -> basically something that looks handmade. Find a cheap knockoff product on aliexpress and make a page to sell it and connect up a dropshipping account (eg shopify etc.) Step 2: Find an existing account selling a similar product -> then steal/download their videos Step 3: decide on your sob story -> is your grandfathers small slipper business going out of business? Is no one buying your product so you have to close down soon? Do you have a mountain of medical debt because someone ran your daughter over so need to get your business to make money? ** Pull on those heart strings!!! ** -> This works best when targeting older people who are less AI literate (Use pity marketing 101) Step 4: Get more content Options: A) just use the stolen content (safer) OR B) put some pictures into genai models to create more videos/content OR C) find someone on socials with a big following and make it seem like they are endorsing the product and using it This does not have to be perfect Step 5: post these videos to socials ** Important -> If your sob story is not working fast enough, you should buy followers and likes here -> put some money behind ads. This is a burn fast and hard scheme here not a slow burn ** Step 6: watch that money roll in… Step 7: … until you get banned/ mass reported/cancelled Step 8: Make new accounts and start again * Disclaimer: I probably would not be doing this from a country where the legal system can come after you for copyright infringement/deepfakes/fraud etc. * So there you go! While some people can identify it immediately, it takes AI literacy to do so (same as media literacy) and AI models are only getting better. So conclusion: if you want to make a quick buck and don’t care about ethics or legality, using video genAI is a great way to make a little bit of money fast. If you want to actually build a lasting and profitable business through social media and scale where your audience actually trusts you ~ avoid gen AI video at all cost -> being cancelled is scary. People are scary and come AFTER scammers. You do not want to be associated with scammers even if you are using your own face etc. Want to talk about how to scale on social without the genAI videos? Reach out for a chat!

  • Ecom brands - are you guilty of this? 😅

🚀 Recently, I’ve been building an automated video enrichment pipeline : a system that continuously pulls fresh public videos, analyzes them with a multimodal AI stack, and enriches them with structured metadata for downstream search and discovery. It orchestrates fetching, scene detection, visual captioning, and embedding generation, all running in a fully automated queue-based workflow. 📊 As part of this work, I compiled and analyzed a large collection of product descriptions from local Australian stores to build a domain-specific vocabulary. …And guess what the #1 most frequent word turned out to be? “perfect.” 😅 I had to laugh, apparently everything here is perfect.

  • At SoMe AI, we are always on the lookout for new strategy in the Social Media game and how to respond to them - interesting move by Instagram. Wonder if it is to reduce the number of lower quality lives.

Instagram just made it a LOT harder to grow a new or small account. Did you know one of the best ways to community build on Social Media is to go live? On TikTok it has been you need 1,000 followers to do so. Instagram however has been different... until yesterday that is. Now, you will also need 1,000 followers before going live. This pushes smaller accounts down and is going to massively hinder their growth. Not to mention, attaining 1,000 followers on Instagram is also a lot more difficult than 1,000 followers on TikTok. What do you think of these moving goalposts? Do you find going live on Instagram grows your account? Or is it just not really going to impact at all?
