What does pharmacy excellence look like in 2026? We got a glimpse last week. We spent time in-store with James Reid, Timothy Cush and Amanda Parker-Perry at Doc's MegaSave Pharmacy Newcastle and what we found was a fast-paced, highly professional pharmacy delivering at scale, with a clear focus on accessible, patient-first care. Doc's MegaSave is a true institution in the Newcastle community. Supporting women with clarity, confidence, and care. In recognition of International Women’s Day, Joseph Amerena Pharmacy recently hosted a Menopause Workshop, bringing together more than 30 members of the local community for an open and informative evening. Led by Integrative Pharmacist Valentina Musuruca and Pharmacy Owner & Senior Pharmacist Joseph Amerena, the session focused on practical education, lifestyle support, and real conversations around menopause. What stood out most wasn’t just the attendance, but the level of engagement. The questions, the discussions, and the shared experiences all pointed to one thing - there is still a significant gap in understanding, and a real need for accessible, trusted guidance in this space. Events like this highlight the important role community pharmacy plays, not just in dispensing medication, but in creating safe spaces for education, support, and connection. Attendees also received curated goodie bags on the night, adding to an experience that was both informative and genuinely supportive.
