Congratulations to Michael Milewski, who (alongside his talented pair Anton Panteleev) won first place at the recent Gumnut Dev hackathon! The challenge? Build an integration showcasing Gumnut’s collaborative textbox and its brand new feature: collaborative AI agents that can interact with existing form-based workflows. Despite some initial teething issues with updating his dev setup, Michael and Anton were able to build out an integration between an existing shopping cart and an AI agent that updated delivery notes with a little flair. The prize? A flamingo - LEGO-style! A nod to Gumnut’s cursor logo, and a well-earned win for a fun and functional AI-powered build. Just in time for the school holidays! We’re incredibly proud of Michael for representing The Martec with innovation, resilience, and creativity. Props to Sam Thorogood and Owen Brasier for organising such a great event and bringing the AI energy to Melbourne! #Hackathon #AIintegration #TeamMartec #GumnutHack #TechTalent #MelbourneTech

  • Thanks so much for the kind words Kerrie H.! So glad you could come and it was amazing what you built so quickly! Let us know if you need a hand with your special project 😉

Last night I attended a hackathon organised by Gumnut Dev, hosted at Relevance AI. What a night. The room was packed with smart people, and I left amped from being around such sharp minds. The free drinks and pizza didn't hurt either! Huge respect to Owen Brasier and Sam Thorogood for pulling this together. What they've built with Gumnut is seriously impressive. I don't code professionally, yet I had a working prototype up and running in under 30 minutes. That tells you everything about how intuitive this platform is. I can't share what I built (in case any competitors are watching 👀), but let's just say it involved solving a problem that's been bugging me for years. The fact that I could go from idea to working demo so quickly was pretty mind-blowing. And yes, I was *highly* encouraged to present my demo back to the group. Gumnut brings real-time collaboration to every part of your product. Text fields, data, widgets - everything becomes collaborative instantly. You can build actual working software in hours instead of weeks. You get complete audit trails tracking every change down to individual keystrokes, plus AI agents that understand your specific domain and work alongside your users. There's another hackathon happening in Melbourne next week (Thu 10 July). If you're around, I'd recommend checking it out. Details here: https://gumnut.dev/melbs Congratulations on such a successful event!
