  • Meet our host, Tara Walsh👋 With experience across teaching, school leadership, learning and development, and education technology, Tara has spent more than 20 years supporting schools, educators and organisations across the K-12 sector. As Head of Education at ClickView, Tara is passionate about helping schools navigate the evolving digital landscape and supporting educators with practical, classroom-ready approaches to media literacy. Tara says: “In today’s digital world, access to information isn’t the challenge understanding it is. Media literacy gives students the power to question what they see, recognise bias, and engage with the world in a more informed and meaningful way, helping them make better decisions about what they trust, share and create. It empowers them to see beyond the surface, to challenge misinformation and manipulation, and to understand the forces shaping what they see online. More than ever, media literacy is about building confident, curious thinkers who don’t just navigate the digital world they shape it with purpose and integrity.“ Join Tara, alongside Christine Evely (ACMI & Australian Media Literacy Alliance) and Sarah Darcy (ACT Education Directorate), for our webinar: Media Literacy in Practice: Preparing Students for Today’s Digital World. 📅 Tuesday, 2 June. 4:00pm AEST 🎥 Can’t make it live? • Meet Sarah Darcy 👋 Sarah is the a/g Director of Digital Education at the ACT Education Directorate, bringing more than 20 years of experience across early childhood through to senior secondary education. With a Master’s in Literacy Education, Sarah specialises in Online Safety Education and the evolving role of AI in education. She is passionate about empowering school leaders, staff, students, and families with the knowledge and skills to navigate complex digital environments and foster safer, more positive online experiences. We recently spoke to Sarah about the importance of media literacy skills in young people. She shared: "I believe in empowering young people to have positive online experiences by moving away from 'shame and blame' and focusing on the 'dos' of online safety. By pulling back the curtain on how technology actually works—through critical thinking, curation, ongoing conversations, and community connection—we can support the whole school community to be proactive and work towards prevention, intentionally preparing students to navigate their digital world with confidence." Join Sarah for our webinar, Media Literacy in Practice: Preparing Students for Today’s Digital World, where we’ll explore practical approaches to media literacy in classrooms today. 📅 Tuesday, 2 June. 4:00pm AEST 🎥 Can’t make it live? • Meet Christine Evely 👋 Christine is Head of Education & Public Programs at ACMI, Australia’s museum of screen culture, and Deputy Chair of the Australian Media Literacy Alliance. She leads a team of educators working with teachers across early years, primary, secondary, and tertiary education to help young people become critical and creative thinkers equipped with strong screen, media, and digital literacy skills. Christine says: “Young people are often quick adopters of evolving and new technologies. However, this does not always mean they are well-equipped to manage such environments effectively and safely. They need access to the knowledge and skills needed to be critical and creative thinkers, able to make ethical and responsible choices about the tools and platforms they use to share, communicate and express their ideas. Media literacy is even more important than ever. It is embedded in many areas of the curriculum - and is a vital part of everyone's everyday communication toolkit.” Join Christine for our webinar, Media Literacy in Practice: Preparing Students for Today’s Digital World, where we’ll explore practical approaches to media literacy in classrooms today. 📅 Tuesday, 2 June. 4:00pm AEST 🎥 Can’t make it live? • At Thorndon Park Primary School, teachers are using ClickView to meet students where they are. That includes everything from biodiversity playlists to quick formative quizzes. Teacher Karsan Hutchinson says ClickView is “much more than a video platform. It could be used as a dynamic tool for teaching, assessment, and inquiry." We’re really pleased the Department for Education, South Australia has renewed its partnership for another three years. Schools like Thorndon Park are a big part of why we do what we do. 🧡 Read the story: https://clickv.ie/w/jVKC

Happy 100th birthday, David Attenborough🎈 https://lnkd.in/gB35Mxwa Because of you, students don’t just see the natural world. They understand it, question it and care about it. You’ve brought the world into classrooms and sparked curiosity that lasts far beyond the screen. Thank you for everything you’ve shown and inspired. • 📣 We’ve been thinking… what comes after the social media ban discussions for under-16s? Every time students question a source, interpret a video, or engage with online content, media literacy skills are already being developed. The challenge is making that learning more intentional, connected, and practical. The conversation is shifting from simply managing access to preparing students for the digital environments they navigate every day. More than ever, media literacy matters in today’s classrooms — but what does that actually look like in practice? Join Christine Evely, Head of Education & Public Programs at ACMI & Deputy Chair of Australian Media Literacy Alliance, alongside Sarah Darcy, a/g Director, Digital Education at the ACT Education Directorate, and Tara Walsh, Head of Education at ClickView, for a practical webinar exploring what this looks like in classrooms. In this session, we’ll cover how: ✅ students engage with media across digital environments ✅ misinformation and AI-generated content influence what students see ✅ algorithms shape online experiences and content consumption ✅ schools can support critical thinking and responsible digital engagement Together, they’ll bring classroom and real-world perspectives to help schools support students in navigating digital environments with confidence. 📅 Tuesday, 2 June at 4:00pm AEST 🎥 Unable to attend? Register now and we will share the recording This is a must-attend for school leaders and educators preparing for what comes next in the classroom.
