Earlier this month, Kosei Terami, AMC’s Senior Client Relations Manager for Asia-Pacific, participated in the 2026 Pacific Islands Investment Forum (PIIF) CEO Forum in Port Vila, Vanuatu, hosted by the Vanuatu National Provident Fund. Bringing together leaders from superannuation, provident, sovereign, and trust funds across the Pacific, the CEO Forum provided a valuable platform to deepen engagement with institutional investors and exchange perspectives on the evolving investment landscape across the region. As IFC’s in-house asset manager, AMC is committed to mobilizing private capital into emerging markets by building long-term partnerships with institutional investors globally. Participation in forums such as PIIF strengthens our understanding of regional priorities, investment opportunities, and the important role institutional capital can play in supporting sustainable growth. We are grateful to PIIF and the Vanuatu National Provident Fund for the warm welcome and excellent discussions. A sincere “tankyu tumas” — thank you very much in Bislama — to all participants and organizers. #InstitutionalInvestors #PrivateEquity #EmergingMarkets #IFC

You are interested by emerging markets infrastructure funds and how to get better performance outcomes? 👉 You should read this one!! 12%. That is the share of investment committee seats held by women across emerging-market infrastructure funds. Yet infrastructure investment funds with greater diversity in leadership and investment teams demonstrate stronger risk management, broader deal origination, and better long-term performance outcomes — making inclusion a financial imperative for fund managers and their limited partners. 👷♀️ IFC - International Finance Corporation and Oliver Wyman have examined women's representation across 44 infrastructure equity and debt funds. It’s the first study to establish a dedicated baseline for this asset class. ➡️ It goes beyond the numbers, offering a practical framework for LPs and GPs to embed women's participation across fund governance, portfolio strategy, investment screening, and post-investment engagement.

Zafiri’s launch shows how The World Bank Group is translating its commitment to private capital mobilization into action. We are crowding in patient equity at scale to help close Africa’s energy access gap. Backed by IFC and partners, the platform illustrates how mobilizing private investors is central to delivering Mission 300.
📣Exciting news for energy access in Africa! Zafiri—Mission 300’s platform for mobilizing private capital—secured an investment signing of $176 million. Its mission🎯: deploy patient equity to close the financing gap for distributed renewable energy developers across Sub-Saharan Africa, with at least 50% directed to mini-grids, solar home systems, and clean cooking. The platform aims to provide 10 million people with access to electricity and clean cooking by 2030—rising to 30 million over its lifetime. The latest development is a key milestone for the The World Bank Group, as IFC and MIGA work toward the $5 billion commitment for Mission 300—an initiative aiming to provide electricity access to 300 million people in Sub-Saharan Africa by 2030. Zafiri, managed by Inspired Evolution, is backed by IFC - International Finance Corporation, African Development Bank Group, The Rockefeller Foundation, Nordic Development Fund (NDF), the MacArthur Foundation, First Rand Group, and Trade and Development Bank Group - TDB Group #Mission300 #PoweringAfrica https://lnkd.in/g9zaciK3

We are proud to share reflections from Ethiopis Tafara, IFC’s Vice President for Africa, following his fireside chat at AMC’s Annual Investor Meeting in Cape Town. His insights underscore the importance of mobilizing private capital to accelerate growth, create jobs, and drive inclusive development across Africa and global emerging markets—core priorities shared across the World Bank Group.
It was a pleasure to join the IFC Asset Management Company’s Annual Investor Meeting in Cape Town, South Africa, where more than 80 institutional investors and industry leaders gathered to explore high-potential investment opportunities across emerging markets, with a spotlight on Africa. In a fireside chat with Dr. James Mwangi, Group Managing Director & CEO of Equity Group Holdings, we discussed the story of Equity Bank’s growth—and how its unique approach to supporting MSMEs with products tailored to clients’ needs underscores how innovation and inclusion can drive scale and attract private investment across Africa. Private equity and capital mobilization are central to the World Bank Group’s 2030 strategy to end extreme poverty and boost shared prosperity, which includes fostering inclusive growth and job creation. Since its inception, IFC Asset Management Company has raised over $10 billion and returned nearly $7 billion to investors, delivering outcomes such as helping create over 2 million jobs, providing access to electricity to 8 million people, and supporting more than 13 million patients. I’m proud to work with our global teams and more than 900 staff across approximately 40 offices in Africa to deepen private investment and deliver attractive returns with meaningful impact. 📍 Cape Town, South Africa #IFC #AMC #AIM2025 #IFCinAfrica #PrivateEquity #Africa #Investment #EmergingMarkets Equity Bank Limited

We were delighted to have Claudia Da Conceicao, IFC’s Regional Director for Southern Africa, participate in AMC’s Annual Investor Meeting — our first held in Africa, and in South Africa. Cláudia moderated the opening panel, leading a dynamic discussion on lessons from South Africa’s large-scale businesses and how their growth stories can help mobilize more private capital from global and regional investors toward high-potential opportunities across Southern Africa. #AMC #IFCinAfrica #AIM2025 #PrivateEquity #PrivateCapital #SouthAfrica #EmergingMarkets”
South Africa’s growth story offers valuable lessons for mobilizing private capital and investing at scale across Africa. At AMC’s Annual Investor Meeting in Cape Town, I had the pleasure of moderating the opening panel, “Investing at Scale – South Africa’s Growth Story,” with Antony Ball (Value Capital Partners), Marek Masojada (Boxer Superstores), and Nhlanhla Xulu (Industrial Development Corporation). We explored how South Africa is achieving scale while unlocking frontier opportunities in sectors like digital, services, and renewables—and what the next wave of private investment and job creation could look like. IFC will continue working with global and regional investors to channel more private capital toward high-potential opportunities across Southern Africa—advancing growth, returns, and impact across the region. 📍 Cape Town, South Africa #IFC #AMC #AIM2025 #PrivateEquity #PrivateCapital #SouthAfrica #EmergingMarkets
