VP Accountant

This role goes beyond traditional accounting, focused on modernizing the bank’s budgeting process, enhancing financial reporting capabilities, and helping bring systems and processes into a more technology-driven, efficient environment. The ideal candidate understands both accounting principles and the nuances of banking operations, and is eager to grow into a long-term leadership track within the institution. This is a high-impact role with strong visibility, offering the opportunity to act as the CFO’s right hand on critical financial initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner directly with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial initiatives
• Lead the transition and modernization of the bank’s budgeting process
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance
• Develop and improve reporting tools, dashboards, and internal financial processes
• Support month-end and year-end close processes
• Leverage technology to streamline accounting workflows and improve efficiency
• Provide analytical insights to support executive decision-making

Requirements & Qualifications

• 3–7 years of accounting experience within a banking or financial institution
• Strong understanding of accounting principles in a banking environment
• Community bank experience strongly preferred
• High level of technical proficiency; experience with Jack Henry is a major plus
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
• Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
• Proven ability to work closely with executive leadership
