Position Summary:
We are seeking a Vice President of IT to lead enterprise technology, strategy and execution during a period of significant growth and transformation.
This role reports to the Chief Financial Officer and carries full responsibility for technology, including platform development, infrastructure, cybersecurity, data strategy, and vendor management. You will lead a multi-year transformation that includes:
Building new insurance platforms, products and digital experiences
Leveraging AI and automation to modernize operations and enhance service delivery
Migrating legacy systems to modern architecture
Establishing a scalable data and analytics foundation
Strengthening cybersecurity and compliance across the enterprise
This is a highly visible role with direct impact on company growth, product expansion, and long-term scalability.
Responsibilities:
Strategy & Transformation
Define and execute the enterprise technology roadmap aligned with business growth
Lead build vs. buy decisions across core platforms and systems
Partner with executive leadership to drive innovation, scalability, and competitive positioning
Define and lead the enterprise AI strategy, embedding automation, machine learning, and generative AI capabilities to improve efficiency, service quality, and decision-making across the organization
Platforms, Security & Data
Oversee development of insurance administration systems, portals, and digital experiences
Lead migration of legacy platforms to modern architecture
Serve as Security Officer, owning enterprise security, compliance, and audit programs (HIPAA, SOC, NIST and related frameworks)
Build and scale a modern data warehouse, reporting ecosystem, and governance framework
Deploy AI and automation across the enterprise to drive measurable efficiency and experience improvements.
Vendors & Infrastructure
Lead all external technology partnerships and development vendors with clear accountability to scope, timelines, and quality
Oversee enterprise infrastructure, systems performance, and reliability
Manage IT budgets, forecasting, and cost optimization across maintenance and capital expenditures
Leadership
Build and lead a high-performing IT organization aligned to current and future needs
Develop talent, close capability gaps, and create a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
Serve as a key partner across all business functions, translating technology into business impact
Qualifications:
Required
10+ years of IT leadership experience, including senior/executive roles
Experience leading large-scale technology transformation or platform builds
Background in insurance, benefits administration, financial services, healthcare or another regulated industry
Strong experience with managing vendor-led development environments and holding partners accountable
Technical fluency across modern architecture (.NET, cloud, APIs, data platforms)
Proven leadership in cybersecurity, regulatory compliance and audit management
Experience implementing AI, automation, or advanced analytics solutions that drive measurable business outcomes
Preferred
Experience in insurance products, TPA or benefits administration environments
Background with legacy system modernization (e.g., AS400/RPG to .NET)
Experience building data platforms and analytics capabilities from the ground up
Experience developing and executing an enterprise AI strategy, including vendor evaluation and use case prioritization in regulated environments
