Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Principal, CMI analyst to serve as a cornerstone of this transformation, someone who can operationalize market intelligence, shape executive narratives, and act as a thought partner to senior leadership.
This role is not about feature/function comparisons or tactical deal support. It is about connecting signals across the market, forming clear points of view, and influencing strategic direction at the highest levels of the company.
Responsibilities
Operationalize Market Intelligence
Stand up scalable processes to systematically capture, synthesize, and distribute market intelligence
Establish frameworks for signal detection → insight generation → executive communication
Partner across Strategy, Product, Marketing, and Sales to ensure intelligence is actionable and adopted
Develop a Robust Market Fact Base
Build and maintain a centralized, trusted view of the market, including:
Market size, growth, segmentation, and share
Competitive positioning across core and adjacent categories
Emerging entrants and disruptors (e.g., AI-native platforms)
Synthesize data from multiple sources (analyst firms, earnings, ecosystem signals, internal data)
Translate raw data into clear implications for UKG’s strategy and positioning
Deliver Executive-Level Insight & Narrative
Produce concise, high-impact briefs for senior leadership
Develop clear POVs on major competitor moves and emerging threats
Identify patterns and inflection points across the market, not just isolated events
Identify Strategic Patterns & Opportunity Spaces
Analyze category convergence across HCM, ERP, CRM, ITSM, and AI platforms
Articulate where UKG can differentiate and win, particularly leveraging:
Unique data assets
Position at the “action layer”
AI-driven workflow opportunities
Extract insights from win/loss trends and deal data to identify momentum shifts and competitive gaps
Build an Executive Communication Strategy
Design and execute a communication strategy for intelligence consumption at the executive level
Establish consistent formats for:
Monthly/quarterly executive briefings
Strategic deep dives (e.g., AI disruption, competitor strategy)
Event readouts
Ensure insights are digestible, provocative, and decision-oriented
Act as a Strategic Thought Partner
Engage directly with senior leaders across Product, Strategy, and GTM as a trusted advisor
Help frame the right strategic questions, not just provide answers
Bring forward forward-looking insights that shape discussions, priorities, and investments
External Market Engagement
Represent UKG at key industry events
Build an external network across analysts, startups, and ecosystem players
Bring back synthesized insights, not conference summaries
