Senior QA Automation Engineer
Contract-to-Hire | Remote (Must sit in Atlanta, Dallas, Miami, Seattle, or Minneapolis)
Compensation: W2 Hourly Rate - $60/hr
We’re looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer to help build and scale a best-in-class quality engineering practice across mobile and API platforms. This role partners closely with engineering, product, and platform teams to drive automation, improve test coverage, and ensure high-quality
releases across mobile apps and backend systems.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Build and maintain automated test suites for mobile (iOS/Android) and API layers using Appium and Playwright/Selenium
Perform hands-on functional and manual testing across complex eCommerce workflows (B2B + B2C)
Own and enhance mobile automation frameworks using Appium with JavaScript/TypeScript
Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
Manage test planning, execution, and defect tracking in Jira and related tools
Partner with engineering and product teams to define test strategies for new features
Identify gaps in coverage and drive improvements across regression, integration, and functional testing
Promote a quality-first culture across the SDLC
Must-Have Qualifications:
5+ years of QA engineering experience (automation-focused)
Strong experience with manual testing + structured test case design
Hands-on experience with mobile + API testing
Experience in eCommerce environments (B2B + B2C)
Strong skills in JavaScript and TypeScript
Deep experience with Appium in production environments
Experience with Selenium and/or Playwright
Proficiency using Jira for defect tracking and test management
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Nice to Have:
Experience with Headspin, Sauce Labs, BrowserStack, or similar platforms
Exposure to AI-driven development/testing tools (e.g., Claude or similar)
Experience using AI tools to improve test coverage and efficiency
Education & Background:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
Proven track record improving quality in mobile or eCommerce environments
