This isn't a role for a bench scientist—it’s for a Flavor expert ready to lead. As our Senior Flavor Scientist, you will be the driving force behind the next generation of aroma and flavor products for the global cannabis industry. You will transcend traditional food science, blending sensory insight, advanced chemistry, and materials science to create proprietary formulations across an extensive range of form factors, including highly technical inhalable products. If you thrive on the challenge of developing robust, high-performance flavor systems that withstand stress and set new industry standards, this is your laboratory for boundless creation.

Your Impact 

• Innovate Proprietary Blends: Architect new product concepts and proprietary blends, building a corporate knowledge base that is key to all functional products.
• Engineer for Performance: Design and manipulate flavor formulations for diverse media/matrices (proteins, emulsions, carbohydrates) and ensure they perform flawlessly under stress, such as heat and processing.
• Drive Industry Authority: Utilize cutting-edge analytical and wet chemistry techniques to test hypotheses and generate technical insights that support key commercial accounts and propel industry recognition through publications and presentations.
• Protect Innovation: Maintain meticulous, organized records to actively support patent applications for innovative products.
• Be a Visionary: Stay ahead of scientific literature and market trends to inform new material sourcing, ingredient qualification, and our overall innovation strategy.
• Adhere to all GMP and FSSC laboratory best practices.

What You Will Bring

• The Scientific Foundation: A Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Chemistry, or Natural Products chemistry (preferred emphasis on emulsions, liposomal formulations, flavor and fragrance, flavor chemistry, and/or organic chemistry). A Master’s degree in a science discipline is preferred.
• Formulation Expertise: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience, including at least 3 years of hands-on experience in flavor and fragrance formulation.
• Regulatory Acumen: 2+ years of experience in a GMP and/or FSSC environment is preferred.
• The Mindset: Proven capacity for technical leadership, mentorship, thoroughness, problem-solving, and collaboration. You are action-oriented, creative, capable of dealing with ambiguity, and driven by continuous process improvement.

This position is onsite at our state-of-the-art showcase facility in Hillsboro, Oregon offered with a competitive base salary and bonus opportunity. The salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position. The actual base salary will depend on experience, knowledge, and skills.
