About the Role

The Senior Director, Apparel Production – Costco / Club Channel is a senior production leader responsible for overseeing the full apparel production lifecycle for high-volume club retail programs, with a strong focus on the Costco account. This role requires deep experience managing apparel production for Costco, club channel, wholesale, mass market, private label, and import production programs.

This leader will oversee sourcing, vendor relations, costing, WIP management, quality control, testing, packaging compliance, production calendars, and final delivery. The ideal candidate understands the speed, scale, accuracy, and compliance expectations required to support Costco apparel programs, including bulk production, overseas factories, club packaging, testing protocols, and on-time delivery.

Based in New York City, this position plays a critical role in driving operational excellence, efficiency, and profitability across multiple apparel categories and retail programs.

How You’ll Contribute

• Negotiate pricing to ensure profitability, approve final buys, and oversee all costing models for high-volume apparel programs.

• Lead apparel production for Costco, club channel, wholesale, mass market, and private label retail accounts.

• Develop and implement production strategies that align with business goals, seasonal launches, retailer requirements, and market demands.

• Manage the full production calendar, ensuring all deadlines are met from sourcing through final delivery.

• Oversee daily production activities, including WIP tracking, time and action calendars, vendor follow-up, approvals, and delivery execution.

• Manage Costco production requirements, including testing, packaging, labeling, compliance, quality standards, and bulk shipment timelines.

• Lead high-level troubleshooting and problem-solving to resolve quality, technical, costing, capacity, or delivery issues.

• Manage a global network of factories and vendors, negotiating contracts and terms to ensure cost-effective, high-quality production.

• Oversee the approved vendor matrix, review capacity, and monitor vendor performance across overseas factories and sourcing partners.

• Develop and manage the annual production budget and lead all cost management initiatives.

• Partner closely with Sales, Design, Merchandising, Product Development, Technical Design, Sourcing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams.

• Ensure alignment and clear communication across departments to support product development, seasonal business goals, and retailer-specific requirements.

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of production professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, urgency, accountability, and high performance.

• Establish the departmental structure, define roles, and conduct performance reviews.

What You Bring to the Team

• 10+ years of progressive experience in apparel production and sourcing, with substantial leadership experience.

• Direct experience managing apparel production for Costco strongly preferred.

• Experience supporting club channel, wholesale, mass market, private label, or major retail account production required.

• Extensive experience managing overseas factories, import production, high-volume apparel programs, costing, WIP, and production calendars.

• Strong understanding of Costco / club retail requirements, including packaging, testing, labeling, quality, compliance, and delivery expectations.

• Proven ability to manage complex global supply chains, vendor relationships, capacity planning, and production execution.

• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making capabilities.

• Proven track record in strategic planning, cost management, margin improvement, and achieving operational targets.

• Exceptional negotiation and problem-solving skills with a hands-on management approach.

• Proficiency with PLM and ERP systems.

• Deep understanding of the end-to-end apparel development and production process.

• Keen understanding of fashion, consumer behavior, mass-market trends, club retail, and wholesale apparel business needs.
