About The Job
The Resource Geologist at Kensington Mine will be the primary owner of the geological domains and short-range / mid-range / long-range ore control and resource models. This position collaborates closely with Mine Engineering and Mine Exploration Geology teams to optimize mine planning and ore development and build effective infill / expansion drill targets.
This position is Juneau-based working a Monday - Thursday schedule at the mine site.
Responsibilities
Stop work for safety concerns and abide by safety best practices, policies, and procedures.
Develop and update geological models with new data inputs and interpretations.
Deliver frequent grade control production model updates to be used for Mine Planning.
Collaborate with Corporate Resource Geologists on long-range mineral resource models.
Review and validate production / resource model inputs, drillhole database, and assay QA/QC.
Collaborate with Mine Engineering and Mine Exploration Geology team to optimize ore development / resource extraction and create effective infill / expansion drilling programs.
Perform geostatistical investigations and model reconciliations as needed.
Review and approve mine plan development designs and longhole stope designs.
Perform all work in a safe and healthful manner in compliance with Company’s safety and environmental policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Ability to work safely and promote a strong safety culture.
Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or a related field.
4+ years of geology experience in the mining environment.
Proven Geological modeling experience in Leapfrog Geo.
Mineral resource estimation experience in Vulcan, Leapfrog Edge.
Strong understanding of assay QA/QC principles and best practices.
Proficiency in geological database management systems, preferably acQuire.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and data integrity.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and adapt to changing operational needs.
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a team-oriented mindset – being respectful, reliable, and easy to work with is just as important as technical skills.
Sets high standards for self and others, builds trust, and takes accountability.
