Overview
We are seeking an experienced Publications Manager to lead the strategic development and execution of scientific publication activities supporting our ophthalmology portfolio. This role will play a critical part in ensuring high-quality, compliant, and impactful dissemination of clinical and real-world evidence across retinal diseases, glaucoma, dry eye, and other vision-related conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute global publication plans aligned with medical strategy for ophthalmology products
- Lead end-to-end publication development, including manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and congress presentations
- Collaborate closely with Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, HEOR, and Commercial teams to ensure aligned messaging
- Manage external vendors, medical writers, and publication agencies to ensure timely delivery of high-quality outputs
- Ensure all publications comply with ICMJE, GPP (Good Publication Practice), and internal compliance guidelines
- Coordinate author engagement, including identification, outreach, and management of key opinion leaders (KOLs) in ophthalmology
- Track publication progress, timelines, and budgets across multiple studies and therapeutic areas
- Support congress planning activities, including abstract submissions and presentation strategy for major ophthalmology meetings (e.g., AAO, ARVO, EURETINA)
- Maintain publication databases and ensure transparency through disclosure platforms (e.g., clinical trial registries, publication tracking systems)
- Monitor competitor publications and emerging data in ophthalmology to inform strategy
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences (advanced degree such as MSc, PhD, PharmD preferred)
- Proven experience in publications management within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry
- Strong knowledge of publication guidelines (ICMJE, GPP3/4) and compliance standards
- Experience in ophthalmology, retina, or related therapeutic areas highly desirable
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders in a global environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
