Job Description
Nature of Work:
Under the supervision of the School Health Nurse, manages activities of the school health room. Duties include first aid and administration of medication as delegated by the school nurse. Responsibilities may include a variety of health tasks and clerical work in assisting students with health-related needs. Involves lifting, positioning, transferring and aiding in bodily functions as needed.
Education
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or Equivalency (GED)
License Or Certification
Must possess a current Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON) Nursing Assistant Certificate or Geriatric Nursing Certification.
Must successfully complete the MBON-approved School Health Certified Medication Technician training programs provided by the Anne Arundel County Department of Health.
Driver’s License required.
Additional Qualifications
Candidate interviews available upon successful completion of a Maryland Board of Nursing required basic Math and Reading test.
