About Endurance

Endurance was founded in 2009 as a platform for the entrepreneurial endeavors of its Partners. After building five successful businesses from the founder seat, we evolved into a family office for the Partners with two tightly connected engines, the Investment Office and the Venture Lab. On one side, we invest across private markets, including venture, private equity, and real estate, through a mix of direct investments and funds. On the other side, we partner with entrepreneurs to build mission-driven companies, primarily in healthcare and fintech where we have deep expertise. We have incubated 10 companies through this model. Our most notable successes include Funding Circle (IPO at $2B), Collective Medical (major sale, acquired by PointClickCare), and Vouch Insurance (growth stage, major sale).

Role

The ideal candidate will have 3 or more years of experience following law school working in a law firm or legal department, but has decided to pivot into a broader business-oriented role where they can use their legal abilities.. We want someone excited about working across a broad spectrum of operational responsibilities that can leverage their legal expertise. Perhaps you are a high achiever in your field, but are looking to use your legal background to tackle problems with greater creativity with a builder mentality.

Responsibilities

• Operations Oversight: In partnership with the head of operations, you will help oversee reporting and operations for the investment office, venture lab and lab companies.
• Investment Office: Review and negotiate underlying investment subscription documents and LPAs. Provide support for investment vehicle formation, subscription agreements. Lead compliance duties of investment vehicles.
• Venture Lab: Provide transaction support for lab companies including formation, financing, and M&A. Execute startup legal work such as employment agreements, early customer agreements, vendor contracts, compliance and board resolutions.
• Company: Lead Endurance HR and operating company compliance. Negotiate and manage service provider agreements. Handle dispute resolution should it arise.

Qualifications

• JD from a top law school
• 3+ years of experience post law school, preferably at a law firm focusing on relevant projects
• Enthusiasm to participate in an entrepreneurial environment
• Mission-oriented around building solutions to meaningful problems

Comp

Total compensation commensurate with experience, but heavily weighted towards equity.
