Job description/Responsibilities: Per-Diem AM Shift APPROXIMATE PAY RANGE: $65.05 - $80.00 Performs patient evaluation and administers treatment. Designs and revises plans of care and goals. Provides written and/or verbal reports to physicians. Documentation is complete and timely, and meets unit standards and regulatory requirements. Completes accurate charge sheets for patients treated and submits them daily. Obtains physician order for evaluation and treatment. Ensures proper authorization is obtained, when required, prior to treatment. Instructs patients and/or family in appropriate home program. Participates in inservice education programs. Provides instruction, and delegates to aides and occupational therapy assistants, new employees, students and volunteers. Keeps abreast of current trends and developments in occupational therapy and rehabilitation Participates in related activities such as patient care committees, case conferences, personnel orientations, community education projects and in-service education. Demonstrates interest in personal and professional growth. Other Duties Fits and/or fabricates upper extremity orhtotics. Participates in performance improvement activities. Performs other job-related duties assigned as by the Director, Rehabilitation Services.
Required Qualification: License/Certification *Certification with the National Occupational Therapy Certification Board (AOTCB), preferred. *Current BCLS from the American Heart Association required. After January 1, 2003, current California O.T. Licensure required. *Proof of all required License(s) and Certification(s) due at time of hire EDUCATION *Graduate of a Bachelor's or Master Occupational Therapy Program. **Proof of all required educational levels due at time of hire EXPERIENCE *Minimum six months experience preferred. New graduates may be considered. SKILLS *Strong oral and written communication. *Organizational and interpersonal skills. *Demonstrates competence in skills within the scope of practice, including age and condition appropriate considerations. *Employees must demonstrate basic computer skills . Physical Requirements *Sit, stand and walk throughout the day. *Lift up to 50 pounds. *Push/pull up to 250 lbs. on wheels . *Frequent bending squatting. *Occasional kneeling and reaching overhead.
