We are looking for a media analytics lead– at the Sr. Manager level who will deliver campaign analysis to understand efficiency and effectiveness of paid media strategies. This person will monitor performance, suggest optimizations and capture learnings across multiple cross-channel media plans. This is a lead role, this person will own the relationship with the senior media client, create & present content to the client team and be expected to answer ad hoc questions from the client. Must have paid media analytics experience within the agency environment.


This role is dedicated to a large luxury auto account; a large and strategic accout within the Merkley portfolio. This person will work with a cross-functional team based in New York City and report to our Director of Analytics. Our analytics team is currently a team of 10 people.


Core Responsibilities:


  • Extract and organize data from a multitude of sources to feed media-improving insights and optimize business outcomes. Will include:
  • Pulling data directly from digital media platforms (social, search, display, ad server, etc.)
  • Direct from digital media publishers
  • Analyzing content syndication programs including total lead delivery and quality.
  • Direct from buying teams (Social, Search etc.)
  • Design PowerPoint/Google Sheet reports that summarize performance. Each presentation should be designed for the correct clients and narrative should match the intent of the report. Inclusive of:
  • Executive Summaries
  • Monthly Deep Dive Performance Report
  • Quarterly Business Reviews
  • Experience presenting reports & analysis to senior clients independently.
  • Experience owning client relationships and being a go-to resource for client teams.
  • Collaborate with planning and activation teams to write insights related to paid media performance and relate paid media performance to paid media strategies. This will include writing insights for team review, inclusive of suggesting optimizations to paid media campaigns.
  • Present and deliver executive summaries, monthly reports and quarterly business reviews to cross-functional client team.
  • Lead client communications around reporting, insights and performance (email, in-person, etc.)
  • Provide optimization recommendation to clients to support the most efficient and effective channels, partners, and tactics
  • Partner with internal teams across all functions to learn the most efficient and effective way to extract value from data and develop a story telling approach grounded in client business reality and brand objectives
  • Identify gaps/requirements from a measurement standpoint.
  • Clearly communicate expertise in, brand lift and incrementality measurement, as well as lead generation.
  • Design measurement plans that are in alignment with evolving media strategy across upper, mid and lower funnel media channels.
  • Work directly with outside agencies and/or media partners on data delivery required to execute advanced analytics work such as MMM, MTA and Brand Lift studies.


Required Skills / Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Economics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or related field with 3 – 5 years of work experience in measurement and analytics strategy applicable to marketing and/or media.
  • Comprehensive understanding of media metrics (e.g., impression, CTR, CPM GRP, CPV etc.), Measurement analytics, Quantitative business measures (LTV, ROI, Effectiveness, etc.), Statistics (Correlations, sample sizing, t-value VIF etc.).
  • Experience working with measurement partners for brand lift, conversion lift, MMM or MTA (e.g., Millward Brown, Nielsen, Lucid, Dynata, Neustar … and others).
  • Experience with Google Campaign Manager, Double Verify, DMPs, DSPs, LinkedIn, Meta, Reddit, Google Analytics required.
  • Knowledge of Digital Media, Marketing/Advertising industries highly preferred.
  • Ability and comfort with presenting work by phone or within small groups.
  • Strong speaking and written professional communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel as well as Google office software such as Sheets and Docs (ability to work with macros, advanced formulas, pivot tables).
