Assists supervisor in performing skilled tasks to maintain automotive equipment.
Performs extensive automotive and diesel repairs and maintenance on all Academy vehicles.
Works with Academy instructional staff scheduling all driving programs using CJA vehicles.
Assist with maintaining inventories of vehicle parts, accessories, tools, and shop equipment. Ensures adequate supplies through purchase or cannibalization of wrecked/unusable vehicles .
Performs shop maintenance and upkeep as required.
Coordinates with Academy staff for bus transportation for students to and from the range.
Performs other duties as required. Uniforms, tools, and equipment will be provided.
Minimum And Additional Requirements
High school diploma or GED
Completion of specialized coursework in automotive, diesel, or body repair
At least four (4) years of experience independently performing duties related to the maintenance and repair of automotive equipment
Must possess and maintain a valid South Carolina driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
Possess a CDL (activity bus/school bus) or the ability to obtain one within twelve (12) months of hire.

About You:
Knowledge of principles and practices used to diagnose vehicles using computerized test equipment
Skill in the use of testing and measuring instruments
Ability to interpret technical service manuals
Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds
Ability to push, pull, squat, kneel, sit, stand, walk, and drive
Ability to work under general supervision
Ability to attend evening training classes, as necessary
