Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state or local minimum wage thresholds). The expected base rate for this role is between
$85,000 - $145,000

Manage the federal and state income and franchise tax compliance process and assist in areas adjacent to the tax the compliance process.
This position has been segmented as remote which means the work can be completed from anywhere except Hawaii or the United States Territories.
Responsibilities:
- Lead/manage the preparation and review of federal and state income and franchise tax returns, estimated payments, and extensions; 47 states; 195 returns per year at the state and local level; 1 federal consolidated return (this responsibility is 85% of the position and requires the most technical skill related to taxation)
- Assist with the identification, implementation, and reporting of federal and state tax planning initiatives
- Assist with the preparation and review of inputs into the interim and year-end tax accounting process
- Assist with the gathering of information in response to document requests from taxing authorities
- Other duties as assigned by manager
Education/Training:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related analytical field required (or related experience). MA/MBA preferred
- Job relevant certifications preferred (e.g. CPA)
- 6 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting; including experience in a public company or public accounting firm
- Federal and state income tax compliance experience.
- At least 1 year of people leadership (supervisor/manager) experience preferred
- Advanced skills using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Experience with research tools used to perform tax research and reinforce understanding of tax law and tax compliance
- Experience with Corptax compliance and tax accounting software
- Prioritization/Organization/Multi-tasking - Able to organize their own work and deadlines, as well as manage the work of others
- Attention to Detail - Regularly provides work that is accurate, thorough and consistent
- Reviews work of others for accuracy and provides actionable feedback
