The Manager, HR Projects leads the HR projects and integrations team and serves as the project manager for the organization’s highest‑impact, cross‑functional HR initiatives. This role is accountable for planning, execution, and delivery of complex HR projects that improve scalability, enable growth, and support enterprise priorities. This role also strategic oversight and guidance of the M&A-related HR integrations work with a focus on process improvement and ensures alignment with broader HR and business objectives.

Responsibilities

HR Projects Team

  • Leads and develops a small, high-performing HR team, including a Project Specialist and Integrations Specialist.
  • Coaches team members on project discipline, stakeholder management, and operating effectively in ambiguous environments.
  • Ensures role clarity between project delivery and integration work.
  • Sets priorities, manages capacity, and establishes standard ways of working across the team.
  • Defines and refines our project management approach and existing toolkit.
  • Provides strategic oversight and governance for HR integration activities related to mergers and acquisitions.
  • Ensures integration work aligns with HR standards, service models, and long‑term operating objectives, and maintains a process for continuous improvement.
  • Establishes and maintains governance, templates, and standards for HR project delivery.

Project Management

  • Serves as the project manager for high‑impact, enterprise HR initiatives, including HR transformations, major process redesigns, and technology‑enabled improvements.
  • Drives execution across multiple HR functions and business partners, ensuring milestones, dependencies, and outcomes are clearly defined and achieved.
  • Produces executive‑ready materials including project plans, status updates, issue logs, and decision summaries.
  • Balances strategic planning with rapid execution, ensuring work is aligned to enterprise HR priorities and business needs.
  • Oversees planning and execution of HR transformation initiatives spanning processes, technology, organizational changes, and service delivery improvements.
  • Ensures projects are scoped appropriately, risks are surfaced early, and dependencies are actively managed.
  • Drives accountability for milestones, deliverables, and outcomes while adapting plans as conditions change.
  • Communicates clearly and proactively with leaders on status, risks, tradeoffs, and decisions.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve HR project intake, prioritization, and execution efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 5 + years of progressive experience leading complex, cross‑functional projects, preferably within HR, operations, or transformation environments.
  • 2+ years of direct management over a team.
  • Demonstrated experience serving as the project manager for large or high‑impact initiatives.
  • Strong project management and delivery leadership skills.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority over project stakeholders
  • Ability to balance hands‑on execution with team leadership and oversight.
  • High comfort with ambiguity, shifting priorities, and complex stakeholder environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with executive‑level audiences.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of end‑to‑end HR processes.
