Formerly Aurora Santa Rosa Hospital, SRBHH was opened in 2016 and is regarded as an integral part of the greater Santa Rosa and Northern California mental health system of care. Conveniently located in the North Bay, this hospital consists of 144 acute psychiatric inpatient beds.

Conveniently located in the North Bay, SRBHH serves adolescents and adults. We treat both mental health and co-occurring psychiatric and substance abuse conditions.
POSITION TITLE: Maintenance Technician
PAY RANGE: $27.00-$34.09 Per Hour
REPORTS TO: Director of Plant Operations
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that building systems operate efficiently and that the physical condition of the buildings does not deteriorate. The Maintenance Technician I maintains knowledge of, participates in further training provided, and understands the potential risks regarding occupational health hazards (e.g. bloodborne pathogen exposures).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Repairs and maintains HVAC equipment
General repair and grounds maintenance.
Basic plumbing and electrical tasks
Operate and maintain the Building Management System that controls the HVAC equipment
Conduct and complete all weekly and monthly inspections/testing to maintain the facility as well as to achieve Environment of Care/Life Safety/Emergency Management regulatory compliance.
Setup phones and computers for staff and troubleshoot issues with phones and computers with assistance of Kebok if needed
Complete assigned work orders such as minor plumbing work; i.e. unclogging toilets, replacing light bulbs and ballasts, patching & painting, working on both patient and staff phones, assembling and moving staff furniture, and smaller tasks that do not require work orders such as distributing copy/printer paper, replacing copier/printer toner and toner waste cartridges, emptying bins with documents marked for shredding, picking up garbage on hospital grounds, helping to conduct fire drills, conducting Environment of Care sweeps to look for ligature risks, blocked fire alarm pull stations, blocked electrical panels and blocked fire extinguishers along with stained or damaged ceiling tiles. Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations
Special functions including facility cleaning
Alarms and emergency codes.
Complies with facility safety, infection control and security program
Participates in activities which enhance professional growth and development.
Performs related duties, as requested
Upholds the Organization's ethics and customer service standards.
Requirements
Knowledge and Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
One year of responsible experience in building and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair; or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience
Working knowledge of basic systems (Electrical, H.V.A.C, and Boilers)
Demonstrated knowledge of all around interior construction, smooth drywall, plumbing, electrical, lights, doors, and hardware).
Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
Health care industry preferred.
Verbal de-escalation and physical intervention program as approved by the CNO

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ENVIROMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
The work is subject to inside environmental conditions; Protection from weather conditions but necessarily from temperate changes.

Oils: There is air and/or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, this position is frequently required to do the following:
Use standard office equipment and access, input, and retrieve information from a computer. Use computer keyboard with manual and finger dexterity and wrist-finger speed sufficient to perform repetitive actions efficiently for extended periods of time.
