REPORTS TO TITLE: National Sales Manager, Gift & Specialty - Independent/International
HOURS: FT Position
The Key Account Manager within the Gift & Specialty channel at Lenox will report to our National Sales Manager and play an integral role in driving world class account management initiatives by working closely with retailer merchants in collaboration with Lenox corporate teams (demand planning, product development, sourcing, customer service and finance) to meet sales, profit, distribution, and business execution within the B2B Shopify platform.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strive for “Best in Class” account management, driving growth in Revenue and Net Margin to help us achieve and exceed our goals. Develop and execute a strategic plan to win for your business, with a clear path to goal achievement.
Capacity to be a successful sales leader, acting as the “business manager” of your business, including cross-functional team leadership, financial and analytical savvy and demonstrated leadership on how to achieve breakthrough goals at your accounts.
Will work with a variety of accounts from regional department stores, specialty retailers, independent gift stores, stationary stores, premium incentive accounts, and any others as assigned.
Help NSM to manage customer profitability, collaborating closely with internal teams to develop proposals for new items, and effectively manage investments to drive your business.
Critical decision making, based on financial analysis of multiple scenarios to drive profitable growth, often diving into the details and understanding what comprises & drives contribution margin $ and %.
Develop and support the planning/forecasting of accounts with the NSM to ensure we hit our monthly budgets/targets.
Attend the Atlanta Merchandise Markets and NY Tabletop Market, both 2x annually working with the account base on new opportunities, business reviews and writing orders at the shows. Visit accounts as needed for in-store support events, business reviews, and guidance on order execution in the B2B Shopify platform.
Own and support managing key strategic business initiatives (including drop ship) for key categories partnering with internal and external business partners.
Execution focused; mindful of key milestones, timelines, and a demonstrated ability to create and adhere to a schedule.
Gathering and communicating competitive factors/insights impacting the business (i.e. new competitive items, competitive promotions, etc.)
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE
Exposure or knowledge of how to work with and drive opportunities across several types of retailers from department stores, gift stores, among others.
Gritty sales or merchant leader with strategic vision, execution focused, track record of overcoming obstacles, and team player not afraid to roll up their sleeves and get into the details.
Strong business acumen and must be financially savvy, complimented by effective oral and written communication.
Strong analytical and planning skills to gather and analyze large sets of data both internally and externally, coupled with strong negotiation skills working with both national and regional retailers.
Exceptional interpersonal skills to be able to build and maintain effective relationships both customers facing and cross-functionally with internal partners.
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and get things done in a fast and ever-changing environment.
BA/BS Degree
5+ years of account sales management or equivalent experience within buying and/or merchandising at retail.
Advanced Microsoft office skills (Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
