Position SummaryPhoenix International Freight Services is seeking a motivated, career‑driven Sales Development Representative (BDR) to support and grow our U.S. sales organization. This inside sales role is intentionally designed as a development pathway into an Outside Sales position, offering hands‑on experience in prospecting, client engagement, and solution development within the global logistics and freight forwarding industry.The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, and eager to build a long‑term career in sales. This role provides strong exposure to pricing, operations, and customer strategy while rewarding performance and progression.Key ResponsibilitiesSales Prospecting & Pipeline DevelopmentGenerate new business opportunities through consistent outbound cold calling, email outreach, and strategic follow‑upsQualify inbound and outbound leads and schedule meetings for Outside Sales representativesMaintain accurate and up‑to‑date activity, contact, and pipeline information in Pipedrive CRMMeet or exceed activity and qualified meeting targetsClient Engagement & Sales SupportDevelop a working knowledge of Phoenix's service offerings, including air and ocean freight, warehousing, distribution, and technology solutionsSupport client communications and follow‑ups to advance opportunities through the sales pipelineAssist in preparing sales presentations, proposals, and customer‑specific solution overviewsPricing, Bids & RFQsCollaborate with operations and pricing teams to support competitive bids and RFQsGather and organize required shipment, lane, and volume data for accurate quotingLearn cost structures, margin drivers, and pricing strategies within freight forwardingCross‑Functional CollaborationWork closely with branch offices, operations teams, and international partnersFacilitate internal communication to ensure alignment and smooth handoff of opportunitiesSupport sales initiatives across regions and service linesProfessional Development & Career GrowthParticipate in sales and industry training to continuously build product and market expertiseShadow Outside Sales representatives on client calls and meetings when applicableProgress toward managing opportunities and developing a personal book of businessQualificationsBachelor's degree preferred (Business, Supply Chain, Sales, or related field)0-3 years of experience in sales, customer service, logistics, or a related roleStrong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsHighly organized with strong attention to detail and time management skillsSelf‑motivated, goal‑oriented, and comfortable with outbound prospectingProficiency in Microsoft Office; CRM experience is a plus
