The Satellite Trucks General Manager plays a key leadership role at Satellite. This position directs, manages, and optimizes the overall operations and financial performance (P&L) of the business unit according to company policy and procedures.
Duties And Responsibilities
Responsible for manufacturing operations, policy and procedures, production goals, and fostering a well-trained and motivated staff
Implements policies and procedures that guide plant operations’ productivity, quality, and cost efficiency
Systematically collects operational metrics to analyze productivity and set performance targets to meet revenue and cost goals
Supports the development and deployment of manufacturing practices focused on quality and continuous improvement
Ensures robust plant safety and security inspections, auditing, and training procedures are implemented to meet regulatory requirements including: OSHA, DOT, EPA
Oversees multi-functional plant teams including production, warehouse, operations, and logistics
Directs the implementation of process improvement initiatives including, but not limited to, 6S and Lean Manufacturing, SOP development and tracking, and site tiger teams
Directs the management of leadership team to ensure business unit success
Confer with matrixed department heads to ensure coordination of the full order to ship lifecycle
Warranty and post-delivery repair experience
Perform other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
Responsible for the direction and management of all subordinate leadership and teams in a manner consistent with, and within Satellite policies and Satellite Circle of Culture
Education And Experience Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred
Certifications: Lean Six Sigma & Lean Manufacturing Green or Black Belt required
Experience: Direction of plant operations requires significant manufacturing knowledge as well as advanced interpersonal and supervisory skills. This is normally acquired by ten or more years of manufacturing managerial experience
