Valerie Health is the AI front office for independent provider groups. We are reimagining how independent practices operate by using AI to modernize patient/provider communication, enhance care, and drive industry-changing operational efficiencies.
We are looking for a strategic, hands-on Founding Recruiter to build our talent function from the ground up. You will serve as a strategic partner to our leadership team, directly owning the search to hire world-class engineers and strategic non-technical roles. Beyond your own requisitions, you will oversee the broader hiring machine, managing our recruiting operations and high-volume volume ops roles to ensure excellence across the board.

What You’ll Do
Valerie Health is the AI front office for independent provider groups. We are reimagining how independent practices operate by using AI to modernize patient/provider communication, enhance care, and drive industry-changing operational efficiencies.
- Team: We are led by Pete Shalek (2x health tech exits, including a $600M acquisition by Optum) and Nitin Joshi (scaled Uber Eats + Health, Stripe Connect, and Bridge, acquired by Stripe for $1.1B). Beyond our founders, our team brings DNA from category leaders (Uber, Stripe, Meta), high-growth unicorns, and top consulting firms.
- Trajectory: We partner with leading independent provider groups across the U.S., automating hundreds of thousands of tasks each month. Scaling at 7x year-over-year with 300% NRR as customers consistently expand usage.
- Funding: We have raised $39M (Series A) from world-class investors including Redpoint Ventures, General Catalyst, Primary Ventures, and BoxGroup.
We are looking for a strategic, hands-on Founding Recruiter to build our talent function from the ground up. You will serve as a strategic partner to our leadership team, directly owning the search to hire world-class engineers and strategic non-technical roles. Beyond your own requisitions, you will oversee the broader hiring machine, managing our recruiting operations and high-volume volume ops roles to ensure excellence across the board.

What You’ll Do
- Strategic Recruiting Engine: You will own full-cycle recruiting for technical and strategic non-technical roles. You will act as a "hunter," using creative sourcing strategies to attract top-1% talent.
- Delivery Hiring Oversight: You will manage a high-volume ops recruiter responsible for our delivery team, ensuring quality and consistency across all hiring verticals.
- Talent Branding: You will work with both founders and our leadership team to amplify our story in the market, driving referrals and inbound interest.
- Recruiting Operations: You will manage and implement the recruiting stack, design structured interview plans, and create data-driven reporting loops to keep hiring managers aligned.
- Candidate Experience: You will define what it feels like to interview at Valerie Health, ensuring candidates become an advocate for our brand.
- Experience: 2-6+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience, including 1-2+ years in a high-growth startup, talent-dense engineering firm, and/or a top tier search firm. You have a proven track record of closing Senior/Staff level Engineers.
- Operational Toolkit: You are data-native. You know how to use modern ATS platforms (Ashby experience is a massive plus) to track funnel metrics and spot bottlenecks.
- Talent Bar: You prioritize quality over quantity. You understand that in a startup, one bad hire is worse than a missed hire.
- Communication: You can sell the vision. You are able to distill complex technical requirements and pitch the "rocketship" opportunity to candidates.
- Urgency & Ownership: You do not operate like it’s a 9–5. You act without waiting for direction. You own outcomes end-to-end, from hands-on execution (e.g., scheduling coordination) to higher-leverage contributions (e.g., shaping hiring strategy and compensation decisions).
- Experience hiring for non-technical roles (GTM, Ops, G&A).
- Experience managing junior recruiters/sourcers.
- Be a founding operator with meaningful ownership in an AI-native, high-growth startup
