Financial Director

Overview

Our client is seeking a strategic and results-driven Financial Director to lead the organization’s financial planning, reporting, and governance functions. This role is responsible for ensuring financial health, supporting executive decision-making, and driving long-term growth through sound financial strategy and operational excellence.

The ideal candidate is both analytical and commercially minded, with strong leadership experience and the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable business insights. This individual will partner closely with executive leadership to guide financial performance, manage risk, and optimize resource allocation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the company’s financial strategy, planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes.
• Oversee financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and executive team based on financial analysis and projections.
• Develop and monitor KPIs to evaluate financial performance and support business objectives.
• Manage cash flow, capital structure, and investment strategies to ensure organizational stability.
• Establish and maintain strong internal controls, audit processes, and risk management frameworks.
• Partner with department leaders to align financial plans with operational goals.
• Optimize financial systems, tools, and processes to improve efficiency and scalability.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team.
• Support fundraising efforts, investor relations, and board reporting when applicable.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations, financial policies, and reporting requirements.
• Identify opportunities for cost optimization while enabling sustainable growth.

• Operates within a fast-paced, growth-oriented organization.
• Works cross-functionally with executive leadership, operations, legal, and external stakeholders.
• Balances high-level financial strategy with hands-on oversight of financial operations.
• Typically functions in a remote, hybrid, or on-site environment depending on company needs.
• Reports directly to the CFO, CEO, or executive leadership.

Required Skills

• Strong expertise in financial planning & analysis (FP&A), accounting, and corporate finance.
• Advanced knowledge of financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting.
• Deep understanding of financial regulations, compliance, and reporting standards.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proven leadership skills with experience managing high-performing teams.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to influence strategic decisions.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial insights to non-financial stakeholders.
• High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and integrity.

Preferred Qualifications

• 8–12+ years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or related leadership roles.
• Experience in SaaS, technology, high-growth, or private equity-backed organizations is highly valued.
• Professional certifications such as CPA, CFA, or MBA are strongly preferred.
• Experience with financial systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP platforms.
• Proven track record supporting strategic initiatives such as scaling operations, M&A, or fundraising.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
