PAY RANGE: $25-29/hr


JOB SUMMARY:


The Closer is responsible for the preparation of closing documents, which may include but are not limited to the Closing Disclosure form, HUD1 and the ALTA Settlement Statement. Coordination with and dissemination of information to parties involved in the transaction is an essential component of the position. Parties involved may include Advocus member agents, sellers, lenders, closers, notaries, buyers, attorneys, and realtors. This position also involves scheduling, confirming, and closing package coordination.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS, RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Accurately prepares closing documents by reviewing title commitments and evaluating what curative, documents and fees will be needed at closing for multiple states.
  • Reviews and communicates requirements to closing from lender, seller and buyer instructions.
  • Accesses and reviews governmental websites to order and review tax requirements for closing in multiple states.
  • Reviews documents to validate calculations for payoffs, taxes, recordings, prorations and other applicable closing figures dependent on state requirements.
  • Balances file and submits to closing.
  • Confirms incoming funds and makes deposits.
  • Attends training and team meetings to remain current on all job functions and industry standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:


  • Basic understanding of closing issues,closing procedures and underwriting guidelines.
  • Ability to work with a diverseand challenging customerbase.
  • Excellent customerservice skills.
  • Professional telephoneetiquette.
  • Attention to detail with accurate data entry skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and abilityto manage multipleprojects simultaneously.
  • Effective oral and writtencommunication skills.
  • Ability to work underpressure with compressed deadlines in a team environment.
  • Above average computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


High school diploma; four year degree or equivalent work experience. One year of title insurance and customer service experience. National closing experience preferred.
