Job Position
As Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of design engineers, drafting, pattern, and engineering support personnel. You will responsible for coordinating production plans and schedules meeting customer needs and expectations, and time lines. You will be responsible for ensuring product engineering conforms to the company’s quality system procedures as documented.
Responsibilities may include:
Supervise/manage a team of design engineers, drafting and pattern technicians, and engineering support personnel; assign work/activities and evaluate their individual and team performance
Oversee the engineering process ensuring adherence to program schedules and demands
Manage multiple concurrent engineering programs meeting internal and external goals and objectives
Work with customers to ensure products conform to customer requirements and meet customer needs and goal times
Coordinate and direct programs, making a detailed plan to accomplish goals and direct the integration of technical activities
Coordinate with product design and manufacturing engineers to establish documentation procedures for the manufacture of company products
Confer with management, production, and sales to discuss program specifications and requirements
Consult and negotiate with customers to prepare and finalize engineering project specifications
Identify requirements; direct, review, and approve product design and changes
Develop and implement policies, standards and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in the department
Recruit employees; assign, direct, and evaluate their work; oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence
Develop and maintain an effective department through the selection, training, evaluation, motivation, and discipline of manufacturing engineering personnel
Resolve personnel problems by investigating issues, identifying solutions, recommending action, and documenting disciplinary action
Conduct periodic reviews of design procedures as it relates to design performance and efficiency based on current and projected product mix and volumes
Maintain knowledge of current trends and techniques in product design; make recommendations for enhancements to systems and processes
Direct/lead, and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives within department
Recognize your role as part of the Company’s Quality Objective; follow established policies and procedures in support of the Company’s Quality and AS9100 standards
Act within expected Company standards including Quality/AS9100 initiatives and environmental, health, and safety matters
Maintain work area in a clean, orderly, and safe manner
Perform other job related duties as assigned

Education/Experience
· BS in mechanical, design, or other related engineering disciplines
· 5+ years’ experience working in related field
· Working knowledge of CAD software; AutoCAD Inventor series, a plus
· Prior management experience a plus
