Position Overview

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the design and delivery of building electrical systems for institutional, commercial, and specialized facilities. This role supports and develops electrical designs under the supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer and works closely with designers and senior engineers throughout the project lifecycle.

The ideal candidate has experience in consulting engineering, is comfortable performing electrical design and calculations, and is on a path toward Professional Engineer licensure.

Key Responsibilities

Design and support electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, emergency power, grounding, and low-voltage systems

Perform electrical calculations such as load calculations, feeder sizing, and panel schedules in accordance with NEC and project requirements

Develop design criteria and assist with system selection and layout

Coordinate electrical designs with architectural, mechanical, plumbing, and structural teams

Provide technical guidance to Electrical Designers and support design intent

Participate in schematic design, design development, and construction document phases

Support construction administration activities including RFIs, submittals, and field coordination

Work under the direction of a Senior Electrical Engineer or Electrical PE

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

Experience working in an MEP or AEC consulting engineering environment

Knowledge of commercial and institutional electrical systems including:

  • Power distribution
  • Lighting and lighting controls
  • Emergency and backup power
  • Grounding and basic low-voltage systems

Working knowledge of NEC and applicable building codes

Experience with K-12, higher education, office, or religious facilities strongly preferred

Data center or mission-critical experience is a plus, not required

Familiarity with Revit and AutoCAD for coordination and drawing review

Licensure

EIT certification strongly preferred

Actively pursuing PE licensure preferred

Professional Engineer license not required for this role
